When Russian troops moved into Crimea, Crimea already did not belong to Kiev. Crimea only belonged to itself at that time; therefore, if Russia stole anything it was Crimea from Crimea, not Crimea from Ukraine.

That state of Ukraine, of which Donbass and Crimea used to be its integral parts, had already stopped existing by the time Kiev attacked Donbass. Plus, both Crimea and Donbass had already declared their independence from Kiev by that time.
