  1. What's really funny is that this thing won't possibly work in inflectional languages. It is just that in English it is possible in such a sentence like "She finally got home, all excited and fascinated." to change "she" to "he" without changing anything else. In other languages, however, for example in Russian, you would also have to change verbs and adjectives: "Наконец она пришла домой, вся взволнованная и очарованная." vs. "Наконец ОН пришЁЛ домой, вЕСЬ" взволнованнЫЙ и очарованнЫЙ." This means that if you want to pull out the same kind of stupidity in a Russian-speaking environment, you would have to name not only you prefferred pronouns, but adjectives and verbs as well, which means you would have to go through the whole dictionary!

  2. This is the most ridiculous thing. I have always addressed people, that is, talking to them directly, using the pronoun "you". All other pronouns - "he", "her", "their", "she", "his", "him", "them" - are NOT FOR ADDRESSING.They are for REFERENCING, that is, for TALKING ABOUT people. And no one to tell me how I to talk ABOUT them - it's simply not their business!
