Here I have a question for all native English speakers. In the end she said, "Foreign minister, thank you very much". It sounded a bit off to me. I mean, it looks to me like it would be better if she said, "Mister Lavrov, thank you very much". Am I wrong here?
And another question. If it were Putin instead of Lavrov, then she would probably say, “Mister President, thank you very much” and that would be just fine. But it looks to me like it would be odd to say, “Mister minister, thank you very much”. Am I right here? If yes, then why is “mister President” ok, but “mister minister” is not?
