  1. Why on earth we Russians would want to do that? Just to let the other side regroup and then fight with new strength? That would really be a stupid thing for us to do, which would only result in more deaths on both sides. We've already made such mistakes before in Minsk-1 and Minsk-2. Besides, the questions Putin is asking are not unreasonable: How can we be sure for example that during this ceasefire Ukraine won't be receiving weapons from the West? Of course, it will. If so, then you really think we should be as stupid as to just sit and let it happen? Of course, not! Or... who's gonna monitor thousands of kilometers of the front line in order to know which side violates the ceasefire in case it happens?
