Ventura seems to be unaware that when Russia 'invaded' Crimea and Donbass, neither region belonged to Ukraine anymore—they were no longer parts of Ukraine. By that time, Kiev had already lost any legal right to rule over those regions, which were, in fact, already independent of Kiev.
Furthermore, Russia’s Special Military Operation, which started in 2022, was not unprovoked. It was, in fact, a continuation of the conflict that began in 2014 after the unconstitutional 'Revolution of Dignity,' which effectively caused Ukraine to fragment into three entities: 1) territories controlled by the new illegal regime in Kiev; 2) Donbass (Donetsk and Luhansk); and 3) Crimea.
Here are some simple yet crucial facts explaining how and why this war started:
1) What happened in Ukraine in February 2014 was a change of state power;
2) This change of power occurred in the form of a revolution;
3) The Constitution of Ukraine allows only those kinds of changes in state power that are prescribed in the Constitution;
4) A revolution is not envisaged in the Constitution of Ukraine;
5) Therefore, the revolution of 2014 was an illegal act of usurpation of state power;
6) The Constitution unequivocally proclaims that any form of usurpation of state power is a state crime (Article 5);
7) Therefore, those who usurped power in February 2014 are criminals;
8) The president deposed in that revolution was legally elected in full accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine;
9) All Western countries recognized him as the legally elected president of Ukraine immediately after his election;
10) Hence, the West is extremely hypocritical in supporting those who came to power by deposing the legal president and violating the Constitution of Ukraine;
11) Since those who came to power did so against the Constitution of Ukraine, they had no legal basis to rule over any region of Ukraine; in other words, no region of Ukraine was obligated to submit to their control;
12) Donbass and Crimea had never rebelled against the legal state power of Ukraine before the revolution in February 2014;
13) Therefore, neither Donbass nor Crimea are rebels—they are simply regions that refused to submit to the illegal and unconstitutional authorities;
14) The West is hypocritical in constantly calling them 'rebels';
15) Immediately after the coup, both Donbass and Crimea declared their independence from Kiev, which was already under the control of the new unconstitutional authorities;
16) It is worth noting that according to the Constitution of Ukraine, the supreme law defining the state of Ukraine was the Constitution itself—not any international agreements and not even any UN resolutions;
17) This effectively means that de facto and de jure, after the coup of February 2014 (the so-called 'Revolution of Dignity'), the State of Ukraine as defined by the Constitution ceased to exist;
18) Later, on April 7, 2014, the unconstitutional authorities in Kiev sent troops to Donbass to bring the region back under Kiev’s control. The shelling of civilians began, resulting in the deaths of hundreds of civilians. This was, in fact, the beginning of this war.
