I really like it how the mass media in the West has conveniently “forgotten” that the conflict in Ukraine did not begin just one year ago, but rather in 2014. It was during that time when an unconstitutional revolution took place in Kiev, resulting in the rise of unconstitutional authorities. Subsequently, the regions of Crimea, Luhansk, and Donetsk refused to submit to the unconstitutional authorities in Kiev and de-facto declared their independence, to which Kiev reponded by shelling ethnic Russians in Donetsk and Luhansk. That’s how this war started. And at that time, at least 14,000 people were killed in Donetstk and Luhansk, including numerous civilians. It is worth noting that Crimea was spared from such shelling due to the presence of Russian forces that had already moved into the region, securing its safety. The media has also “forgotten” the horrifyiong incident in May 2014 when anti-coup protesters were burned alive in Odessa. Then the Minsk agreements were established, which, as Olan, Merkel, and Zelensky later revealed, were simply an attempt to buy time. And over these years since then, the West has been consistently pumping Ukraine with various military equipment and ammunition, aiming to support their planned retake of Donetsk and Luhansk. Only an idiot would think that Russia would peacefully sit and watch all of this.
