People feel entitled to going anywhere they want and getting anything they want. No idea why you’d want to force someone to make you food. So much they can do to it.
39
@ No it wouldn’t, because businesses that discriminate on things that don’t actually help business, tend to fail.

@orlandomoreno6168 Businesses that didn’t discriminate in the US did far better, Northern states in the US during segregation and slavery were far better off economically. South Africa was primarily a resource economy so discrimination didn’t matter.

It’s fine. If they don’t want you, why do you want to go there? Don’t see why people feel entitled to go wherever they want.

I’ve seen Japanese only bars and restaurants in Thailand too, they also have Thai only places. I don’t complain or play victim about it, I just go somewhere else, not a big deal.

@streetstroller If “you” are someone the owner doesn’t want to serve, that’s pretty entitled. But the point is, you’d be a fool to force them to anyhow on legal grounds unless you’re just trolling for a lawsuit. Never piss off the person making your food, common sense.

@ Well sure, if there are much better metrics then use them. My point is that IF there’s some objective justification to not serve a particular person based on some group identity, then forcing them to act against their own interest would be an act of self entitlement, among other things. What you’re getting at is if the only reason to not do business with someone is irrational hatred, they should still be legally forced to do business in that case. To that, I’m saying why would you want to force that? Do you think they’re going to provide good service? Not cut corners? Not adulterate your food? Not rip you off? I get the whole, “it’s the principal” thing but you can’t legislate emotions or belief. Letting businesses which discriminate on nonsensical grounds go out of business while ones that don’t take their market share makes far more sense and is far.more effective as it actually addresses the issue. If your house was infested with rats, would you want to know where they are so you can get rid of them, or dress them up as kittens and pretend they’re cute and harmless.

“People, take their job seriously” “Also they don’t care if they served garbage to customers” Doesn’t add up

The hidden bar gimmick? Really? You’re like 7-8 years late on that one

No way Japan has the most common cheating in relationships. Thailand has it beat by miles.

Being a politician in Cyprus is like being an amateur hockey player in Afghanistan. And all streamers are subhuman so good that more places are telling you to F off.

Micro aggressions aren’t a thing. It’s just a woke propaganda term tossed out to try and manipulate how others behave while claiming victimhood points for pathetic people

@johnnykotletti4614 And that’s why Germany is turning into a pile of hot garbage. Enjoy that multiculturalism which won’t include anything German soon.

@conk4542 Nah, I have something called friends and real life for that

@ Depends on whether or not that can be objectively shown to be against the self interest of the bank. If not, then no. Insurers take gender into account when calculating premiums because they have the data to show it impacts the business. Sure, you could say that certain groups default on loans more so just charge a higher rate and fees, and that’s what effectively happens, it’s just hidden behind other metrics like credit score, income, and marital status. But what’s the effective difference between only offering someone a very high rate or nothing at all? Let’s say you had solid evidence that 90% of the time a certain race, sex, religion, or nationality fails to properly pack parachutes. Would you jump out of a plane packed by someone in that group?

@ Businesses exist to make money, not make everyone feel welcome. If they know they can’t service you, or it’s a hassle not worth your money, it makes sense to not allow you. Doesn’t matter what the US does. The US has horrible crime, a low trust society, a massive homeless problem, and an education system hijacked into an extremist political propaganda apparatus. They are not a country to emulate when it comes to how to deal with society or culture.

@kiddkd7242 That was the case for everyone until the EMTALA in 1986, before that a hospital could turn away anyone they wanted and their motivation was almost always about ability to pay, no race.
