Putin had a narrative he wanted to stick to. No amount of prodding will change that, he’s never going to be completely honest or candid. But hearing and seeing him deliver his narrative in itself is of interest. Reading between the lines of the original interview makes it a lot more interesting than if you watched it hoping Putin would get coaxed into revealing some big secret.

What is this guy droning on about. You hard up for guests now?

It’s disgusting how Lex and so many others constantly prequalify their content with an apology posing as an explanation, before they put out anything that someone might find controversial. You don’t have to cower behind some shield of, “I’m just letting others speak, it doesn’t mean I agree.” Anyone who will pretend to be offended, anyone who will attack you for not following their agenda, will do so regardless of whether or not you include a naive disclaimer. All you’re doing is giving credibility to the idea that proclaiming offense is somehow justification for censorship and a fascist society.

This guy mostly gets it about how limited and primitive ANNs are. Lex and the other AI fanboys just can’t get past being impressed by the illusion of the trick to realize the magician doesn’t have real magic.

Can’t take anyone seriously who ends all their sentences with, “right?”

@antonius3745 Seems you have no clue about Russian history if you think it won every war it was ever in. The list of wars Russia has lost is quite long and spans all eras of its history. And cherry picking some timeframe and saying only it decided that Ukraine is really Russian is complete nonsense. You can simply shift the timeframe and show how the area that is now Ukraine had little, even nothing to do with Russia. The past doesn’t dictate what has to happen now. If the current people of Ukraine want to be independent of Russia, let them fight, but they can fight with their own money.

In time, tyrants always fall. But we don’t have always to wait. Take action.

And products were made even worse under socialism. This isn’t some inherent trait of capitalism, it’s something that emerges from monopolies and cartels. And monopolies are not inherent to capitalism at all.

Yeah it’s disgusting how Lex and so many others feel the need to toss out some, “Please don’t be offended” disclaimer whenever they talk to someone or about something they think the fascist cancel pigs will go after. Stop apologizing for asking questions and having conversations. The onus isn’t on you to prove you’re not whatever the work fascists will claim you are, and they’re going to claim it even if you do.

@CricetinaeGerbillinae No he isn’t. I know his background, I know how he rose to power, I know how he maintains his power. None of it includes being honest. If he’s honest about one or two things here and there, it’s part of a larger deception. Despots don’t maintain power by being completely honest. It just doesn’t happen. I mean, just a simple example, when Putin had it declared his net worth was somewhere around $4m to try and pretend he hasn’t raped the Russian economy for personal gain. That’s just laughable.

@ПростоЖизнь-м3я He’s a greedy, power hungry despot, nothing more. What you call honor is just propaganda meant for feeble minded people to believe so that they let him stay in power.

Yes, yes, a super human AI would be bad, we’ve all seen the 30 movies about it. Do we really need this homeless guy to blather on about it
