Chinese love iPhones. Even the propagandists pretending to love Chinese phones have been laughed at
220
The move away from China started more than 5 years ago. Another 5 and it’ll be almost complete

@ A lot of people only use android because they are cheaper. And as soon as they can afford an iPhone they get one. As Apple has introduced cheaper iPhones their market share has grown as android users switch. Very few switch from an iPhone to android, there’s just no incentive to do so if price isn’t an issue unless you want a de-googled phone for privacy. I don’t care about Apple or Android but this is the reality. Apple is a very strong brand, Android isn’t and the strongest Android phone making brand, Samsung, is very weak by comparison outside of Korea.

@ Glaze? Lol, what? Chinese buy domestic when they’re poor. When they have money they buy imports… Dawg.
3
Mozilla, got taken over by activists, implemented and wasted money it couldn’t afford on woke DEI garbage. When your org is failing on all fronts and you’re funneling money to political grifters, it’s game over
2
@ Poor people pretending to be patriotic to explain away why they can no longer afford more expensive phone s
2
@ Of course Apple marketing is propaganda, all marketing is. Chinese consumers didn’t just wake up one day and decide that inferior domestic brands were better because prestige doesn’t matter. What happened is the economy started falling apart and people look for cheaper options. The rest of the world is still buying iPhones, apples global market share has been steady for years.

You’re comparing website traffic for platforms that get most of their traffic and nearly all their revenue from mobile apps, Reddits mobile app sees far less traffic than their site, while the platforms you compare it to, are the opposite. And before you say you’re comparing the actual sites for FB and IG, their mobile apps often share links that take you to their website and not their app. So people share content from the platforms they got through the apps and when others open it, it opens ion their website, inflating the numbers.

@UteGirlz There needs to be a large tax on any company that doesn’t use mostly human labor
2
@ That makes no sense. Tariffs are paid by the companies importing. It forces them to pay more tax if they’re not making things in the US and contributing to it though jobs and infrastructure
2
@ Historically companies have not been able to pass off more than a small amount of tariffs to consumers. Companies aren’t making record profits because they have no margins to reduce. They can reduce profits and will because consumers have a pricing sweet spot for every product and service. When prices go up, consumers cut back. They already are, it’s a major reason companies have been slashing jobs the last two years and why they’ve been reducing the amount of product they sell to keep prices where they were before. Companies have mountains of data showing that consumers will tolerate getting less for their money far better than paying more for the same amount.

Tim Apple made a big bet moving production to China? Everyone had already done that, it wasn’t a bet, it was doing what Apple always does, copy everyone else.

Chinese brands are trash wumao
1
@ China is poor and getting power at a rapid rate. Chinese don’t want Chinese phones, the buy them when that’s all they can afford.poverty goes up, junk Chinese phone sales go up. Nobody is buying the overpriced Chinese flagship phones.
1
@ Chinese companies cut quality to the subsidies so they profit off them even if they don’t really work. There’s are hundreds of thousands of subsidized Chinese EVs sitting in fields. They were made as cheap as possible, “sold” and registered to factory staff for several months, then dumped in hidden fields. The companies make their profit, don’t have to find actual customers, and nobody notices they’re horrible made because they are left to rot in a field
1
@ I wouldn’t tell strangers my location.
1
@ Huawei is bad. Everything they make is poorly made. They’re basically just a propaganda and spy arm of the CCP, making low quality telecom equipment to spy on foreign countries. Their phones are poorly made and using outdated tech. That tri fold phone was a total flop. The only Chinese phone company that makes anything half decent is Oppo.
1
@ Sales stats prove you wrong, lil bro
1
@ For poor people sure
1
@ Chinese brands are the joke, the whole world sees them as cheap, badly made copies with CCP spyware. They’re trash.
1
@ Chinese are not patriotic and any statistics out of China are lies. Huawei tri fold phone was roasted on social media for being a complete failure and the fake “patriotic” people showing them off were torn apart online. All the scalpers who bought them the first day lost money. Even the social media fool who went into Apple stores in his pajamas to promote Huawei was lambasted online. People aren’t wasting their money on trash phones to support a dictator who doesn’t care if they live or die
1
@ And everybody wants to show off. Just look at social media
1
@ Chinese EVs are trash. Every country that bought a lot of them regret it. Look at Russia for example. I’ve been in four different brands of Chinese EVs, all cheaply made, terrible ride quality and sound insulation. Lots of build quality issues in critical areas like thin metal in the frame, wheels falling off. The only reason iPhone sales are declining in China is because the Chinese are getting more and more poor. China’s u employment is so bad the CCP stoped trying to even fake the statistics and just stopped publishing them lol
1
@ Europe hates them, Russians hate them so much they’ve been debating them. Only poor people get tricked into buying them. And they’re not banned in the US, they have a high tariff. None of the Chinese EV companies are profitable. It’s just a way to scam tax money through gov subsidies. It’s why tens of thousands of new Chinese EVs rot in fields
1
@ Unlike the CCP, people don’t need to pay people to talk bad about China. China is hated around the world like no other country. People will gladly point out the endless idiocy of China for free
1
@ No, not odd at all. China is getting poorer every day. Poor people buy cheaper phones. Pretty simple isn’t it
1
@ Nothing you said refutes what I said. Chinese teens are getting educated, what does that even mean. They’re broke, they’re buying cheap domestic trash because they have no choice. They’d love to be able to afford expensive imports to show off. And countless young Chinese are in massive debt already trying to keep up appearances
1
@ “Sold out” means nothing. It’s a cheap tactic to pretend to sell out to build the illusion of high demand and get free publicity. Apple phones are selling out because they aren’t using that tactic. Ben Shapiro? Lol what? China is getting poorer by the minute. All the foreign companies are closing and leaving, the unemployment rates are so high the CCP stopped publishing them, they’re pushing people out of cities back into rural towns because there’s no work and they want to bolster food production, they converted hundreds of universities into technical colleges because there’s no demand for people with white collar skills, CCP and retired CCP rats continue to try and get all their wealth out of China so the CCP had to enact strict measures to stop the capital flight. Large Chinese companies are going bankrupt left and right, their real estate market completely fell apart and all the largest developers have gone bankrupt. And that’s just the tip of the iceberg. Dawg
1
@ I’m sure your friends and family drive cheap Chinese cars too and you think it’s because they’re such high quality and amazing status symbols. I mean, ask anyone in the world what comes to mind when they hear “Made in China”, and I’m sure it’s things like luxury, high quality, and elite status. Lol
1
@ They do. These people are confusing or deliberately misrepresenting the increase in poverty changing buying habits as some kind of “patriotism”. Funny how that so called patriotism only surfaced as the Chinese economy started to crumble and the CCP started cracking down on displays of wealth
1
@ No phone company is innovating anymore. It’s all gimmicks. Chinese companies are no different. Nobody cares about incrementally better cameras, folding screens are a joke, AI on phones is a toy. How is Vivo innovating, they’re just more of the same cookie cutter tech
1
@ If you think that, you don’t know what your point or mine is
1
@reallifeengineer7214 And? Who cares about the Chinese market, I’ve already said half a dozen times it’s because the Chinese economy is imploding and consumers are buying cheap domestic brands. With these tariffs I’m sure most Chinese won’t even be buying those, they’ll be sending each other postcards
1
@reallifeengineer7214 Is that why the US market shrugged off a 104% tariff on Chinese goods with a 10% jump in the S&P?
1
@reallifeengineer7214 You’re too simple minded to even understand my point. My point is, the US doesn’t care about the Chinese market, it’s why the S&P went up even as tariffs on China went up. The market is still down because the market always overreacts and it was overreacting to GLOBAL tariffs, not Chinese. The Chinese stock market is irrelevant. It’s small, nobody trusts it, even most Chinese ignore it and put their money in property, gold, or overseas investments. Who would trust the financial reports of CCP companies lol
1
@reallifeengineer7214 Again, you’re just proving my point and not seeing it. If the US cared about the Chinese market it wouldn’t surge up as tariffs on China are increased. And nearly all the market downturn was an overreaction to uncertainty over the US putting tariffs on nearly every country, not about China specifically. So again, my point is, the markets are suggesting losing access to cheap Chinese made products isn’t a major concern. Consumers won’t die if they can’t buy 50 toxic waste shirts from Shien every month. Or if they keep their phone for 5 years instead of 2. Meanwhile a dozen other countries are building up manufacturing capabilities to make up for the exodus from China
1
@reallifeengineer7214 Looking forward to it.
1
Yeah but it’s short sighted. So ,unchartered money, time, and opportunity is lost to the churn of new staff. Especially in more complex roles, where it could 6 months before someone is reasonably productive and years before they know the business practices, business logic, or code base well enough to be at peak productivity. It’s more about manipulating stock price. You hire to signal to the market you’re expecting rapid growth. Then you do silent layoffs under the guise of streamlining operations and cutting costs. You have the potential to significantly raise share price while hiring and firing of you do it right. That can more than offset the cost of churn.
1
Good, hiring on the basis of racial or gender diversity is illegal and racist/sexist. Also, a ton of companies churn contractors, many capping their contracts at 6 months to avoid them being labeled as employees and being hit with fines and other costs for misclassifying them. But you sound like a racist so of course you’d jump to assuming it’s about race
1
@nelswolf That’s not how minimum wage laws work
1
@Etheoma Trump already imposed massive tariffs on individual companies that evaded previous tariffs under Biden’s handlers by moving production to South East Asia
1
@ Tim “Pillow Biter” Apple will stall for 4 years and invest almost nothing into the US
1
@ Wrong. Companies that import goods pay the tariffs on those good. That’s literally how it works. I see you failed learning how Google works.
1
@ If you produce in the US why would have to import, that makes no sense. The US produces all raw materials, it only imports when it’s cheaper to do so. With tariffs, it stops becoming cheaper.
1
@ Learn some new lies to post, wumano
1
@ The importer pays the tariffs, stop trying to lie, it takes 5 seconds to search online and see you’re lying. You’re not convincing anyone wumao
1
@ Why would components have to be imported if they’re made in the US too. And who cares about iPhones. There’s a million other products that aren’t iPhones and nobody needs an iPhone, it’s a discretionary spend
1
@ No it isn’t, most US debt is to Americans. China only holds around $750 billion in US debt. Stop smoking crack
1
@ I don’t care about fanbois
1
@ Funny to see a wumao pretend to not know what wumao means
