  1. The data here is useless. Way too many variables not accounted for, the large “studies” of failed drives not only fail to account for these variables, but don’t even include control groups. Calling them a study is a massive stretch. When your estimates are over 100% off between your low and high end, you’re in the realm of not being useful. Just store data on multiple drives, in multiple locations, and move along. The drives will fail when they fail, and you won’t care because you’ve planned for it.

  2.  @ExplainingComputers  Where did I imply anything about invalidating the question. I said the data is too ambiguous to be of any real use. Two completely different things.
