Full time drivers ruined it. Illegals driving with stolen or rented identities made it worse. Was always meant as a now and then side hustle. No idea how people are shocked that pay goes down when labor supply goes up. How is that not basic common sense.

@costelinha1867 Lol, capitalism is simply the right to own property and keep the profits of your labor. Greed and corruption is the problem and there is mountains of both under socialism, it’s human nature. The problem isn’t capitalism, it’s standing by and allowing corruption to spread because everyone is distracted by social media and arguing over trans bathrooms.

I do wonder why Adam tries to be relevant when he’s proven himself to be a worthless, ignorant propagandist. I’d argue he never even had 15 min of fame as his reach was always trivial, but for lack of a better way to put it, your 15 min were over ages ago. Go make coffee or wait tables Adam, at least there you’ll be of some use.

Lol, supply and demand has always been a thing. This is like saying it’s discrimination that an airline ticket costs more on thanksgiving day.

Not in a blue state, they let you steal all you want

@samuraiintheye You need a license to sell insurance?

@darmou Neither company makes money so where is the actual greed? Unprofitable companies trying to make money or drivers who are oblivious to how supply and demand works thinking they should get paid what they want instead of what is feasible, and expect investors to just endlessly lose money to subsidize their delusion?

@518adventures4u You set your own hours, location of work, you can indirectly set your own fee by refusing to take what they offer, you can work for their competition while working for them. If you want to be reclassified you’d be pushed into part time work, get no benefits, work hours they set in locations they decide on, wouldn’t be able to refuse a ride without grounds for termination, probably have to wear a uniform that you pay for. As for fair wages, what’s fair? Whatever you decide? There might be like one ride share company in the world that’s consistently profitable, none in the US. So basically you’re asking a company that loses money to lose more to pay you more. How long do you think that will go on for? Then when they go out of business what are you going to do? If you have a better option now why not take it. Expecting someone to turn into a charity to sustain your life choices isn’t realistic. They pay what they pay. Force them to pay more and they just close up shop and you get nothing. Zero is always the real minimum wage.

It doesn’t. And most of this copper goes to make things nobody really needs. Junky electronics designed to be thrown away in a few years, millions of pointless EVs powered by coal, tens of thousands of which sit abandoned in fields in China because they were only made to scam government subsidy programs, tens of thousands more rotting away on dealer lots because they’re too poorly made to sell.

@Jrsygirl28 Far too much, but even land owned by Americans like Bill Gates are being used against us. Bill is scamming tax subsidies to shut down farms and ranches he bought then getting paid with our money to keep that land unproductive. Which then raises the value of food produced on the farms and ranches he keeps open. We not only lose out by having our tax dollars scammed but lose again with higher food costs.

Obamacare made it even worse, forcing everyone to pay for tens of millions more people dumped onto a broken system instead of actually fixing the system, then convincing ignorant people that everything was fine now so no need to try and push through legislation actual fixes to the layered issue of a corrupt, predatory healthcare industry. Then you had more clueless fools act like Big Pharma was the best, most trustworthy industry ever during COVID. Dumping hundreds of billions more into their pockets for almost nothing in return. This has just made the healthcare industry richer and more powerful than ever. It’s now much, much harder to fix thanks to these massive mistakes

There are apps that tell you the price of any drug at all the pharmacies in your area. GoodRx for example. Can shop around in seconds while still at the doctor.
