Thais do this in Thailand, Thais, especially the tourist areas of Bangkok. They used to have gangs of kids, often Cambodian or Burmese being watched by a handler. They didn’t just beg but would bear hug you and go for wallets. Lots of women and even ladyboys would rent babies from mothers to carry around with them. Often they would drug the babies so they would sleep or not get agitated as they were kept out in the hot sun or up till 4-6am around very noisy nightlife areas. I’m sure the Chinese will be setting up their beggar gangs in Thailand as well, fighting for territory with the Thai beggar gangs. There’s already LOTS of Triad scum in Thailand doing everything from illegal casinos, drug trafficking, human trafficking, and operating online scams that target both Thais and Chinese. Attempts are made to look like they’re being cracked down on but they’re always released after money is paid. Maybe a few are deported just for show. In Laos the Chinese human traffickers kidnap or pay families for their daughters, often through intimidation. They marry the girls then turn them into domestic and sex slaves in Laos or use the facade of marriage to take them into China where they become slaves there. I’d wager the Chinese have the most slaves of anywhere in the world just within their borders, not even including the countless ones they have in any country they have more than a trivial prescience.
