Jealous of what exactly? This design wouldn’t have been more stealth overall, maybe it would have had a smaller radar cross section p, maybe, but it’s also a smaller aircraft with less capacity. And it clearly didn’t have any exhaust cooling like the F-117 so it would have been far more conspicuous to IR tracking. Given it’s low speed and high steal, it makes more sense as a bomber then an interceptor as well. Maybe now with beyond horizon fire and forget missile systems it would work but not back then.

@ Training and tactics is everything. I doubt China could compete on the tech but even if they could they aren’t going to be good at using it. Russia has better tech, training, and tactics and look at the state of their military in combat

@thezig2078 This isn’t total maintenance cost, it’s ONLY the cost of the radar absorbing coating

@StrawHat83 Not to mention they can’t manufacture it at any real scale, build out the maintenance infrastructure , much less train good pilots.

Underpowered engines, poor lifespan, poor sensors, not even in production, couldn’t make enough to matter even if none of these other things were true.
