  1. The Russian Empire wasn’t considered European. And certainly isn’t today. So the Japanese defeated another Asian nation.

  2.  @KolyaUrtz  Who cares how close it is to European culture, it’s an Asian nation, look at a map. And Russia has many ethnic groups that aren’t European at all or only in part due to mixed breeding. Lots of very centrally Asian looking Russians around.

  3.  @KolyaUrtz  Go look at a map of the continents. The only part of Russia that’s in Europe is the small exclave they stole decades ago, Kaliningrad, which has a small population.
