It does not matter if you transformed 20 years ago. You still have male feet, male hands, male hips and above that male muscles and male cardio. So it is still unfair to natural female sporters.
I understand if you feel woman into a mans body you are not happy. But if you do the transition, you have accept certain things in live. Non stop medicines is one of them. If you stop that you are back to male in no time except for the parts that are taken away. But given enough time, even that will grow back. You have to accept that you can't shop for clothes like a real female as real female clothes wil not fit you.
AND you have to accept you can't compete in real female classes as you are, and never will be, a real female. (really?, yea really, where are your small feet, dainty hands and wide hips and hour glass look?...hmmmm?)
Competing in a trans class is acceptable. And also most people would accept that. And with that most people would accept the trans world more. It's that simple. It is the same story as those male hating, extreme feminists. They want to be accepted, but do everything in their power to not be accepted by both male and female.
I am diabetes, i have to accept that there are no more icecreams for me, no more Chinese restaurants, no more beer and a hell of a lot more "no more". Probably a lot more then in your trans life.
