Its a common mistake that Porsche had designed the beetle. The first one was, but Adolf Hitler did not like the square tank like design and created the rounded design as we know the beetle today. Technically how the car put together and the engine was by Porsche, but the looks was by Hitler. But because of the war and the popularity of the beetle it was decided the put the rounded design on Ferdinand Porsche's name. He did not so much wrong in the war except for design a tank or 2 from which the Tiger is the most famous. (and most feared tank ever build)
