  1. "tiefen" is Amsterdam slang, not official dutch. The Dutch don't care about there language. Most foreigners speak and write it better then todays young Dutch.

  4. Most of the old windmills are long gone. Less then 1% remain. (included the American Windmill which was used to control water level in small areas like farmland.

  7.  @simonh6371  Not for Hollanders. I am Frisian, and Hollanders still think that the 1000 years older Frisian language is just slang of Dutch. Never tell them they live on soil stolen form the Frisians 800 years ago. The average Hollander has not the slightest clue about their own history. They are very good in declaring everyone who tell otherwise then their wrong believes an idiot.

  10. Depend on which part in the country you are. In the north part you can hear the "X" very well. Most foreigners know more about Dutch history then the younger generation of Dutch people as history is cut out of education and the younger generations dont give a shit about it. What the America have to much on pride for their country, the Dutch lack.
