  1. I think becouse tornadoes can have different shapes. Just straight tornadoes are also seen. The only reason about the conical shape i can think of is that the rotation under the cloud is much higher as on the ground which couses the funnel to widen becouse of the centrifugal force.

  3. Impossible. Then one must trow a nuclear bomb larger then the Russian Tsar Bomb. En even that bomb mean nothing to a supercell. Besides of that the destuction on the ground will exceed that of a tornado. To distroy a tornado, the whole supercell must be distroyed. Then again, do we want that?, since it is known for science that thunderstorms contribute to life on earth. They belong to one of the building blocks of life on this planet, including human life. This forces are bigger than mankind can handle and to my opinion, thats a good thing.

  4. Yes, but that take a power which must be larger as the supercell. The powers of nature are so big that it comes down to use a atomic bomb to do that. And that bomb will destroy more as the tornado itself.
