@1notstressed Umm. Anyone charged with the Jan 6 Insurrection was charged with "Seditious Conspiracy". I couldn't explain the difference, but article 14 section 3 says rebellion or insurrection. It does not say Seditious Conspiracy.

@JTH-hm8ew Hell, yeah. You are absolutely, 100% correct! we can elect anyone over 35 who is a natural born citizen and has been a resident of the US for at least 14 years! But we made a stupid choice this time.

@1notstressed Not the same, but they are connected. Trump's involvement is undeniable, and by promising to pardon and release them from prison, he's "offering aid or comfort". The legal loophole is that no one was charged with insurrection or rebellion. He obviously couldn't have been involved with and act of insurrection or rebellion that never happened. By charging them with Seditious Conspiracy, they opened up that loophole. So, no the charges are not the same, but one does lead to the other.

@kimberlywoodbury1739 1. Natural-Born Citizen: The candidate must be a natural-born citizen of the United States. 2. The candidate must be at least 35 years old. 3. The candidate must have been a resident of the United States for at least 14 years. Article 14 section 3 of the Constitution adds that no one involved in rebellion or insurrection may hold office, either. (The can evidently run and win in either case, just not hold office) And to answer the next question, those involved in Jan 6 were charged with "Seditious Conspiracy". I don't know the difference, but the Constitution doesn't specifically mention "Seditious Conspiracy".
