  1. ​@driftmaniac689 70% of Pakistan's foreign exchange came from jute export in 1970. Pakistan's GDP halved after Pakistan split in 1971. Prior to 1960s, East Pakistan which went on to become Bangladesh had higher GDP than West Pakistan. It is only after the military coup in 1958, GDP of West Pakistan started rising more rapidly than in the east. By 1970 West Pakistan had slightly higher GDP than East Pakistan.
