If you are a Marathi, then you need to watch "Mee Shivajiraje Bhonsale Boltoy". I have seen the condition of Marathis in Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra.

@_Mohit_Joshi Please ask yourself, why language on the streets of Mumbai, the capital of Maharashtra is not Marathi?? Why those who are born and brought up in Maharashtra, refuse to learn Marathi? Why one of the leader of Shiv Sena said Mumbai is in Maharashtra, but, Maharashtra is not in Mumbai?? BTW, I am not a Marathi.

India i.e. Bharat, is a union of states and not a nation state. India is multi lingual. It is wrong to promote one language of foreign origin over native languages. Hindi is a creation of the Mughals by Indianizing Farsi and Arabic. It is not a native language.

@_Mohit_Joshi it seems you are unaware that the very word Hind is an Arabic word for Sindh, Hindi means Sindhi in Arabic and Persian. Hindi is basically Urdu in Devnagari script.

@_Mohit_Joshi Why Dr.B.R.Ambedkar wanted a separate country for the dalits?? In a democracy, wishes of the masses is Supreme and not words on a paper. India is a federal union of states. Central government can reorganize a state only after the request comes from the state assembly. What happened in J&K is twisting the law to suit the purpose. Canceling a state out of existence means cancelling a people out of existence. This will lead to civil war like what happened in Pakistan leading to birth of Bangladesh. After J&K state was illegally abolished China has occupied large parts of J&K with this government able to do nothing. Fresh wave of killing of Pandits leading to new exodus of Kashmiri Pandits even after deploying more than half a million troops. Kashmir is a very small part of India. Just imagine if this happens in a large state?? Fact is, today's India is forced merger of illegally occupied British India with 565 princely states.

@_Mohit_Joshi Do the non Marathi population of Mumbai, know even a word of Marathi?? If that movie was fictional, why did it strike such a big chord with the Marathis?? Whatever depicted in that movie is the reality. If nation is first, then what gave birth to Shiv Sena and why is it so popular among the Marathis??

@sumitmishra3575 Mumbai is unofficially and not officially called India's financial capital due to home of HQOs of major companies registered in India. Just like Bangalore is unofficially called the IT capital of India. And Kolkata the cultural capital of India. It is not only migrants but large number of non Marathis born and brought up in Maharashtra refusing to learn let alone speak Marathi. I think you have never lived in Mumbai if you are not aware about Shiv Sena and MNS agitation against the Hindi speaking Uttarbharatiyas. English is the language spoken in the offices, shopping malls and multiplexes. But the language spoken on the streets is pidgin Hindi and not Marathi.

@bhanupratap1063 that is because it is predominantly in Mumbai and major cities like Pune and Nagpur with large migrant population that locals are clashing with migrants.
