This is so similar to 1971 where the Pakistan army refused to handover power to the democratically elected government.

Civil war in Myanmar and influx of refugees from Myanmar has caused months long large scale ethnic and race riots in the state of Manipur, India.

Education =/= jobs. Right skills + foreign investments = jobs. Even in India we have the same problem. Days of 9 to 5 secure jobs are over. Our education system needs to prepare our youth to become entrepreneurs. With automation and AI, number of jobs is going to shrink drastically.

If Pakistan spends its meagre resources on military and not education, then the world cannot be expected to foot the education bill of Pakistan. The country is in a mess due to overspending on military and allied activities which don't create wealth.

I am a grown up man. I couldn't watch this video after seeing that child cry. Just imagine what the people are going through.

India has broken the glass ceiling in space race which used to be reserved only for the most developed countries.

Biggest problem of Pakistan is expenditure outstripping income. The single biggest source of Pakistan's expenditure is the Pakistan military which owes its roots to colonial British India Army. Pakistan army has created the India bogey to justify its domination over Pakistan. Pakistan in reality has no enemies. It has to drastically cut down military expenditure if Pakistan has to survive as a nation. No nation can survive if it's expenditure far outstrips its income. Everyone knows the solution, but, who will bell the cat aka Pakistan army?

@DW How can a "Bangladeshi journalist" living in exile in Sweden, know the ground reality when internet is shutdown?? Why don't you speak to your correspondents in Bangladesh or at least in India?
4
@iqqyplaysgames But, Bangladesh has left Pakistan far behind in every economic, social and human development indicator which ironically was formulated by a Pakistani economist. The only area where Pakistan is ahead of Bangladesh is in population and military.

@protagonist9716 fact is Indian army rescued the West Pakistani army in East Pakistan. By September and October the West Pakistani troops were already on the defensive in East Pakistan and were completely cut off from West Pakistan without any supplies and ammunition. The West Pakistani troops squandered their limited ammunition in killing hapless civilians and when the time came to put up a fight, almost 300,000 Pakistani troops surrendered to the Indian army within 13 days of a 9 months long extremely bloody civil war. If India didn't intervene, West Pakistani troops would face the same fate as US and French in Vietnam. Read the books written by West Pakistani senior officers deployed in East Pakistan during the 1971 Civil War.

@AliSidTex on the contrary, Pakistan in the 1960s was considered an economic miracle due to massive aid from USA and the booming jute trade which used to account for nearly 70% of Pakistan's foreign exchange earnings. The real problem was when West Pakistani army attacked East Pakistan paramilitary forces and East Pakistani regiments as enemy forces. The East Pakistani paramilitary and military forces were completely taken by surprise. Hence their unprepared improvised resistance failed by the month of May. They then retreated and regrouped as Mukti Bahini in India supported by both India and the USSR. The West Pakistanis were completely cut off from their supply lines due to very effective blockade by the Indian Navy and Airforce. Their collapse was only a matter of time with or without the intervention of India. If Bangladesh would have been part of Malaysia or Indonesia the country would still be united. Pakistan even today faces the same ethnic divide as in 1971 between the Indic Punjabis, Sindhis and Mohajirs on one side and the Turkic/Iranic Balochs and Pathans on the other side. It seems history is again repeating.

When internet in Bangladesh is shutdown, how there are so many comments on every video wrt the agitation in Bangladesh? Behind this agitation there is some major global power who wants to topple Sheikh Hasina's government.
3
Globally we need to ban vehicles which run on hydrocarbon and replace them with electric vehicles.
2
Bangladesh government needs to be careful how it deals with such protests. Bangladesh is a democratic country. If the masses don't want reservation, then the government must do away with such laws. There are very few government jobs. Bangladesh needs to do more to raise the quality of education and infrastructure which will draw major foreign investments as has happened in China, Vietnam and Mexico.
2
@DW If there's complete internet shutdown, how videos on Bangladesh are getting such large number of comments?? Clearly these comments are being posted from outside Bangladesh by some power which wants to destabilize the government.
1
With complete internet shutdown, there's no way all videos in Youtube connected to anti job quota agitation in Bangladesh could be flooded with similar anti government comments. This is information warfare by some big power against the Bangladesh government.
1
Fact is, this agitation is backed by foreign powers who want to topple Sheikh Hasina's government. Fact that Bangladesh has overtaken Pakistan cannot be digested by those for whom Pakistan is a proxy.

AI doesn't have consciousness. It is not a living thing that wants self preservation. Therefore, no matter how smart AI becomes, it remains a man-made tool.

Modi's rise can be largely attributed to 3 things 1) hijacking of every institution supposed to uphold democracy this includes the media 2) backing by crony capitalists who are the real rulers of India and in the past they used to support Congress, the largest opposition party 3) last but not the least is an opposition that pretends to be dead.
