  43. @SG You too have believed the propaganda that Pakistan dishes out to its population wrt East Pakistan aka Bangladesh. Fact is, in 1947, East Pakistan used to have bigger economy than West Pakistan. This situation started changing after the 1958 coup by Gen Ayub Khan. This is when West Pakistan started impoverishing East Pakistan to enrich itself. . This is the genesis of the resentment of the Bengalis towards West Pakistan. The Bengalis who visited newly created Islamabad, used to say that they can smell their looted money to create this city. It was not the politicians, public or journalists but the Bengali economists who were the driving force behind the 6 points of autonomy of East Pakistan from West Pakistan which ultimately led to the 8 months long bloody civil war and birth of Bangladesh. In fact, a Harvard educated Bengali economist had predicted breakup of Pakistan to Gen Ayub Khan way back in 1960. As per Tariq Ali, 70% of Pakistan's foreign exchange in 1971 used to come from the jute trade in East Pakistan. Pakistan was broke from the very beginning. It got the recruitment ground of the British India Army but not the economy. With the breakup of Pakistan in 1971, Pakistan is economically unviable. After 1971, it has been artificially propped up by USA, Saudi Arabia and China. Withdrawal of US support after 2022, has started Pakistan's current economic crisis. Saudi Arabia too is no longer keen on carrying the burden of Pakistan for too long. Only China is still propping up Pakistan with one loan after another leading to China becoming the largest debtor of Pakistan. Economic collapse of Pakistan will lead to further breakup of that country artificially created by forcibly merging parts of India, Afghanistan and Balochistan to house all the Muslims in the Indian subcontinent.

  48. China has a huge advantage over India when it comes to 1. ISTAR i.e. Intelligence, surveillance, target acquisition, reconnaissance 2. Cyber war 3. Electronic warfare 4. Electro magnetic spectrum domination 5. AI 6. Unmanned UCAVs, drones, loitering munitions 7. Stand off munitions 8. Rocket force The above are only a few areas but which will be far more important than artillery and light tanks. India needs to work with USA for a more than 1000 kms range HIMARS. India needs to take the help of Isreal and Russia to build a more than 1000 kms range S400 type system. Artillery even with rocket assisted shells can hit at most targets 100 kms away. This won't be of much use against China where distances involved are huge. India needs to work with USA for a rapid dragon type palletized munitions. PS: It is not Bofors artillery but Israeli laser guided bombs dropped from Mirage 2000 that changed the course of war in Kargil. Pakistan army had entrenched themselves well in Kargil disguised as Kashmiri Mujahideen. They had factored in shelling from Indian military and therefore had prepared for the same. Even after extensive and intensive shelling India couldn't dislodge the Pakistanis. India tried aerial attacks but those too failed. It is after this India took help of Isreal to integrate laser guided bombs with Mirage 2000. It is only after this precision bombing from Mirage 2000 that Pakistanis suffered heavy casualties leading to Nawaz Sharif imploring Bill Clinton to stop the war. This created animosity between Nawaz Sharif and Gen Musharraf which ultimately led to a military coup by Musharraf against Nawaz Sharif.

  60. It was Ayub Khan and not Bhutto or Yahya Khan who planted the seeds of Pakistan's breakup. Bhutto was trying to defend Sindh and had good reasons for opposing Mujibur as PM. East Bengal joined Pakistan on the condition that it'll remain an autonomous region in Pakistan. This like the promise to Balochistan was forgotten after formation of Pakistan state. East Bengal which became East Pakistan used to have a higher GDP than West Pakistan in 1947 till early 1960s. East Pakistan gradually became a colony to prop up West Pakistan and its military where Bengalis had negligible presence. Situation of Sindh then and today was very similar to East Pakistan with large economy and little presence in Pakistan Army. Mujibur's 6 points demand was basically two countries under one flag. After Mujibur's big victory in 1970 election the West Pakistanis particularly Bhutto got unnerved as they knew autonomy of East Pakistan would mean Sindh bearing the burden of funding Pakistan government and its humongous military. This is why maximum opposition to Mujibur came from Bhutto and not Yahya Khan who was open to the idea of autonomy to East Pakistan. Mujibur was also open to the idea of two PMs under one flag hence the accusation that Bhutto wanted to be PM doesn't holds good. The reason for breakup of Pakistan was economic. A Bengali economist from Harvard had predicted breakup of Pakistan in 1960 to Ayub Khan, the then military dictator of Pakistan. PS: Yahya Khan was a dimwit propped up by Ayub Khan to keep the president seat warm. He was a drunkard and no leader.

  96. As per 1946 cabinet mission plan, India was not supposed to be governed centrally by one political party. As per this plan only defense, communication, currency and foreign affairs would be governed centrally and rest would be governed by the states. This plan was accepted by both Congress and Muslim League but vehemently opposed by business houses profiteering under the centralized British rule. Since Congress was aided, funded and guided by these business houses it had to withdraw its consent to the 1946 cabinet mission plan. Withdrawal of Congress from the cabinet mission plan led to the demand for Pakistan by Muslim League. Therefore India was not partitioned for religion but to save the monopoly of few business houses over the Indian economy. This part of Indian history is completely missing from our history books. Both India and Pakistan are not one nation state but a union of nation states. This is why the constitution of India defines India as a union of states and not a nation state. Centralized rule will lead to some states capturing power in the central government to the detriment of states who don't have the numbers to gain political power. Political marginalization leads to economic, social, cultural and nearly every other forms of marginalization. Centralized rule is basically continuation of colonial rule. In a diverse disparate subcontinent like India, at least economic power needs to rest with the states. The central government needs to be formed with representatives from every state in the union of India and not one political party representing only certain ethnic, religious, linguistic groups in the subcontinent.

  110.  @shekharguptafanclub4120  Who told you Chinese and Indian civilization didn't attack one another?? Are you aware North East was under Chinese and Burmese occupation from 1200 to 1800 AD?? Today's Assam used to be known as Kamrupa whose natives were Bengalis. Chinese Ahoms from Yunnan invaded Bengali Kamrupa in circa 1200 AD and renamed it to Oxom or Axom after themselves. Chinese occupied Axom was invaded and occupied by the Burmese from 1400 AD to 1800 AD when British invaded and annexed Burma with British India. This is how after 600 years of Chinese and Burmese occupation, Kamrupa aka Assam aka North East returned to India but with majority ethnic Chinese and Burmese population. When the British separated Burma from India in 1937, they retained undivided Assam with India but these places now had majority ethnic Chinese and Burmese population who have never accepted themselves as Indians. This is why these people have been taking help from China and Burma to separate from India right from 1947. This is why the government of India has hidden the history of North East and declared ethnic Chinese and Burmese as indigenous Indian tribals to appease them and Bengalis who are the real natives of North East as settlers or illegal immigrants in their own ancestral lands. India and Indians played a huge role in China's century of humiliation where the British used troops from India to cow down the Chinese and forcibly sold them opium grown in British India for silver, tea, silk and other precious commodities. Much of the old Marwari, Parsi, Gujarati business houses made their fortune through the opium trade under the patronage of the British in return for support of their kings of Rajputana Gujarat towards British occupation of British India of which Rajputana Gujarat were never a part of. You will not get to read this in any history book.

  120. There was never any country called India prior to East India Company/British occupation of several kingdoms in South Asia many of whom were already under centuries of foreign occupation. The word India, is a Greek word for the region we call Pakistan today. The word Hindu, is originally a Persian name not for a religion, but for people living around Sindhu river whom we call Pakistanis today. Only little more than 50% of today's India was British India. The rest, were 565 autonomous princely kingdoms who weren't parts of British India. Nehru's Kashmir; Tata, Godrej, Patel, Gandhi's Gujarat; Birla, Modi, Dalmia etc Rajputana aka Rajasthan were not parts of British India but people from these places were dominating both the politics and economy of British India while not being subjects of the Raj as their kings were allies of the British. That legacy, continues till this day. Without the support of the kings of Rajputana, East India Company would have been thrown out of India in 1857. It is only after this event that we see rise of many Marwari Gujarati and Parsi business houses in British India. Congress, a political party was created by the British to help them rule India not to lead India to independence which is why people like Gandhi Patel Nehru Birla were opposed to independence of India as their land wasn't under British occupation but people like Bose, Bhagat Singh were dead against the British as their lands were under British occupation. Our history books are completely silent about these facts as Congress, which took over from the British, has whitewashed Indian history and covered up uncomfortable parts of the history of the Indian subcontinent. Our history books are also completely silent about 600 years of Chinese and Burmese occupation of Kamrupa aka North East before the British got it back from Burma in circa 1800 AD. We have to question everything we have been taught and history needs to be rewritten.

  182. @SG You are talking absolute rubbish and peddling downright lies. INSAS has the same firing mechanism of AK47, the most successful rifle in the world and features of FNFAL and Galil two more ultra successful rifles. This rilfe if it is used in +50 degrees Celsius to -50 degrees Celsius will develop cracks which were addressed eventually. Another excuse of our army is 5.56 round doesn't have stopping power. How is it then all NATO nations are sticking to 5.56 after moving away from the heavier 7.62 mm bullets to which the Indian army has regressed to? The heavier 7.62 enters and exits the body without much internal damage whereas the smaller 5.56 mm bullet tumbles inside the body causing massive internal damage. There is nothing wrong with INSAS. Every rifle has teething problems. If INSAS was such a terrible rifle, how did it pass the army's trials? Wrt to Arjun, during trials army was trying to sabotage the Arjun which is why DRDO had to put a black box like device. The Arjun is nothing but Indianized German Leopard, the most successful tank in the world. Similarly the imported air force used to change the specs of Tejas when the prototype used to near finalization thereby putting this fighter in perpetual development hell. Problem is not with DRDO DPSUs and their products but extreme corruption in our defense procurement where nothing can be procured without paying multimillion dollars bribes to netas, generals and babus. DPSUs cannot pay bribes. This is why DRDO products are being sold to armed forces by shady private companies without any competitive bidding process at overinflated prices. Since the CAG like rest of the institutions which uphold democracy has been compromised under this government it chooses to turn a blind eye to these gross violations of norms and policies. Which is why now the Modani sarkar wants to change the laws and policies of DRDO not by scientists but by the dalals of "industry" who don't even have one product of their own.

  256. @Vir This mess has happened because BJP has joined forces with separatist forces in NE to come to power in this region. The people of North East don't consider themselves Indians and don't want to integrate themselves with India and Indians because they are not natives of India but settlers from China and Burma. There was never any Nagaland or Mizoram but undivided Assam which was a Bengali kingdom called Kamrupa. Kamrupa, Manipur, Tripura were Bengali kingdoms which were invaded and occupied first by the Tai Chinese in circa 1200 CE followed by Burmese invasion and occupation starting from circa 1400 CE to 1832. 1832 East India Company freed NE from Burma but with majority Chinese and Burmese origin people who have never considered themselves as Indians although many like in Assam and Manipur adopted local Bengali language, culture and customs. This part of Indian history has been hidden by the government in New Delhi to buy peace. This is also the reason why NE right from 1947 has been in a constant state of strife and unrest supported by China and Burma. Not only Christian Nagas, Mizos but Hindu Meitei of Manipur and the Ahoms of Assam have been taking help from China and Burma to separate from India. Contrary to what you have said, Hindi movies are banned in Hindu Manipur. When diverse people settle in one area, there will be ethnic, religious, racial, linguistic clashes which is not limited to only NE but a pan India phenomenon. To bring some semblance of peace we need a truth and reconciliation not lies, appeasement and suppression/distortion of history.

  261. You have not explained the root cause behind why Pakistan from a liberal and moderately Islamic country took a turn for hard Islamism after 1971. Pakistan turned to Islamism not out of choice but pressure from Saudi Arabia. Pakistan became bankrupt after the crushing defeat in 1971 and lost East Pakistan from where Pakistan used to get 70% of its foreign exchange and was almost 50% of Pakistan's GDP. Pakistan with its huge military could in no way fund its budget after separation of East Pakistan. This is when they turned to the Saudis to bail them out. The Saudis agreed to help them on the condition that Pakistan became a real Islamic country. This started the process of Islamization of Pakistan. 1978 civil war in Afghanistan only helped this process further setting Pakistan on a course 180 degrees different from what Jinnah had envisaged. Pakistan's economic stability was ensured by massive aid from USA and Saudi Arabia. With the exit of USSR from Afghanistan and collapse of the Soviet Union USA started tightening the screws on Pakistan from the 1990s. This is when the economic woes of Pakistan started which was kept afloat with aid from USA and Saudi Arabia not because of its inherent strengths. Sept 11, gave another brief respite to Pakistan but now with complete withdrawal of USA from Afghanistan Pakistan is back to square one. Now even the Saudis are reluctant to fund Pakistan generously as their own economy dependent on petro dollars is in decline. In a nutshell, without the crutches of Saudi Arabia and America, Pakistan cannot go far as a nation. It simply doesn't have the resources to fund its government a trap which is also applicable to Afghanistan making these multi ethnic countries highly unstable.

  339.  @Venkat4G3B5  First of all I am from Assam. Indo Aryan Bengalis, are not "Melaccha" or tribals. There used to be a very advanced Vedic civilization close to today's Bengalis stretching from today's Bengal Bangladesh Kamrupa aka north east to Srivijaya which is today's Malaysia Indonesia. Today's Thai culture language etc have ties with Bengali culture language. Kamboj aka Cambodia, Champa aka Vietnam used to be part of Vedic civilization. What is known as Mekong river is Meigonghe in Chinese which is Ma Gange/Ma Gonga in Sanskrit/Bengali. Capital of Brunei, Bandar Seri Bagawan is actually Bandar Shri Bhagwan in Sanskrit. The French archeologists are digging out an entire city in Cambodia known as Mahendra Parvata. There was no Tibetan invasion of North East. If Melacchas were Tibetan then all historical artefacts and evidences would be Tibetan and not Bengali. Tai are Dai Chinese from Yunnan in China. The same Dai Chinese invaded Vedic/Hindu South East Asia from 1000 AD changing the demography and thereby the culture of the region from Hindu to Sino. Yes Ahoms, Thai, Meitei, Vietnamese are all Dai Chinese from Yunnan. They are not natives of India or South East Asia. The British invaded and occupied Burma from circa 1820s to 1942 and with the defeat of Japanese for few more years from 1944/45. So, British occupation of Burma was for more than 100 years which is how lakhs of Indians from all over the subcontinent settled in large numbers in Burma prior to their forced eviction from Burma in the 1960s by the Burmese government. None of this is covered in our history books or discussed in the mainstream media.

  341.  @Venkat4G3B5  Dali Kingdom was conquered by the Mongols in 1253 which is what drove so many of Dai Chinese to these sparsely populated Kamrupa. Like I said before, Chinese history is several thousand years old. And the size of the kingdom rose and fell assimilating several ethnicities who are all of the mongoloid race. But, Dai/Tai people are by no way related to Indic/Vedic civilization. Similarly, Biharis have a long history just like the Tamils. Both are separate ethnicities but part of the same Indic civilisation. Can we say Dai or Tai people are from Indic civilisation?? Can we say Turkic, Pathan or British as part of Indic civilisation?? Buddhism has been followed across East and South East Asia. But that does not mean they were parts of Indic civilisation. What will you call a Dai invasion of Kamrupa as if not Chinese invasion?? Shan State of Burma, borders Yunnan in China. The Ahoms came Yunnan and not Shan State in Burma which like North East India and rest of South East Asia were incorporated into the Dai Chinese kingdoms. The original natives of Burma were not mongoloid but Indic. Thai, Ahom, Meitei and vast majority of the mongoloid people of South East Asia are Dai Chinese that's why by blood they are similar. But by culture different as they adopted local culture and got assimilated with the local population. But, Dai people are originally from Yunnan which is a part of China and people of Yunnan consider themselves Chinese unlike the Tibetans. North East was also invaded and occupied by the Burmese for several centuries. It is from the Burmese that the British freed Assam and integrated with India after several centuries of foreign occupation. No history book ever mentions this. PS: You have provided a short link without any explanation of the history or origin of Melaccha dynasty.

  356.  @anikasrivastava3320  no??? Who made Mamata Bannerjee leader of Bengal Congress?? Couldn't Rajiv Gandhi find anyone better than Mamata in a state which is known for intellectual leaders? Why people of Bengal rejected Congress you have to understand those business houses who control Congress were also in bed with the British in looting and murdering Bengalis. These business houses played a very big role in starving to death 30 to 50 lakh Bengalis when INA and the Japanese had reached Burma next to united Bengal. The Bengali refugees who came after 1947 were treated like dirt in comparison to those who came from West Pakistan even though Bengal was the number one state contributing to the national exchequer. After 1971 war when millions of Bengali Hindus took refuge in Bengal again they were left in the lurch. Such series of step motherly treatment from New Delhi gave rise to leftist leanings in Bengal culminating in Naxalbari movement with which many middle class Bengali students got associated with. To curb this movement the Congress government committed genocide on Bengali people after which Congress government was thrown out for good from the soil of Bengal and communists ruling the state for 34 years. If TN, Kerala, Odisha, Delhi are so better than WB then how WB has a staggering 20 million people from your state and the numbers are rising exponentially each year?? Proof of the pudding is in eating it, innit?? Last but not the least, WB has only little more than 2% of India's landmass but contributes 7% towards its GDP. This is why WB being #14 in size is #6 in GSDP leading to people from your state making a beeline to WB.

  389.  @vapour3896  1) Natives were Bengalis prior to Chinese and Burmese invasion and occupation of these ancestral lands of Bengalis. This is why everything ancient about North East is Bengali and not Chinese or Burmese. 2) Chinese and Burmese like the afghans, Turks, British and Portuguese are foreign to India and not the natives of India. 3) Chinese invaded and occupied Indic south east Asia from 1000 AD just like they invaded and occupied kamrupa real name of undivided Assam from 1200 AD onwards. 1200 AD is not early but around the same time of Afghan and mughal invasion and occupation of India. Our history books mention Afghan and Mughal invasion but completely silent about Chinese and Burmese invasion and occupation of India. On the contrary we have been led to believe ethnic Chinese and Burmese are indigenous Indian tribals. 4) Everything ancient about North East is Bengali which ethnic Chinese and Burmese adopted and thereby trying to pass off as bhoomiputras of these lands. 5) How can ethnic Chinese and Burmese become indigenous people of undivided Assam, Manipur and tripura?? 6) How can people of Chinese and Burmese origin become tribals of India? How can same people found in both india and Burma/ China?? Do you think Indians are similar to Chinese and Burmese?? There are designs by China for greater China, designs by Burma for greater Burma as Burma never reconciled to the loss of these territories to india. But north east is ancestral lands of Bengalis just like Bangladesh and West Bengal. India has been invaded by series of foreign invaders. The British were the last to invade but the first to leave india. Those who came before the British are still present with same hostile relations with the natives. This is the crux of the insurgencies in kashmir and north east.

  514.  @pradeei.g7478  Punjabi Hindus and Sikhs encountered the same things in West Pakistan in 1947 that the Bengalis encountered in 1971. A large part of the population, particularly the ruling elite are Pathans or people of foreign origin. To be fair, Iskander Mirza's ancestors were Arabs. Iskander Mirza, Shurawardi, Bogra etc became PM President etc because Bengalis comprised 54% of the population. This was one of the biggest factor for their becoming PM President etc. You are not aware even today people belonging to lower castes are killed and humiliated for the most trivial reasons. There was a time not too long ago when regularly large number of low caste people used to be killed by upper caste people in UP Bihar. Phoolan Devi became a dacoit because of caste persecution and revenge. She herself was killed as a reprisal for her past caste violence. You have to look at matrimonial advertisements, housing societies to know how much aparthied aka casteism is alive today. West Pakistanis despise anyone from the east of Pakistan which also includes the Mohajirs and Indians. But that wouldn't lead to genocide. A false belief that show of excessive force would lead to cowing down of the population which wanted secession. The biggest mistake West Pakistani forces did was attacking East Pakistani military, paramilitary and police which were cooperating with West Pakistani forces prior to the attack on them at the beginning of Operation Searchlight. The rest is history. And if they indeed despised them so much then why were they so desperate to keep them in Pakistan?? If you look at the pictures of khaki clad West Pakistani troops of 1971 war, they hardly look any different from khaki clad police of UP Bihar.

  516.  @mehmano9045  How can West Pakistanis be racist when majority of East and West Pakistanis belong to the same race? Can Ethiopians be racist towards Sudanese as they both belong to the same race?? Yes, the Pathans are a different people who have similar views towards Mohajirs, Punjabis as well. Bengalis being no exception. Ayub Khan, Tikka Khan, Niazi, Yahya Khan were all Pathans. If a Mohajir Musharraf, Punjabi Bajwa, Zia or Kayani were in place of the Khans, things wouldn't have taken such a drastic turn. What the Bengalis experienced in 1971, the Punjabi Sikhs and Hindus had been experiencing for centuries which ended with 1947 partition. If there was such extreme hostility towards the Bengalis, Pakistan would've broken up in 1950 or 51 when there was major agitation over language. Even today there's a large Bengali population in Pakistan who have never complained anything about racism. Entire southern coastal region of Pakistan called Makran has a large population of African origin people. The people close to the areas bordering India where temperatures reach 50 degrees Celsius people there generally tend to have very dark skin on both sides of the border. No one complains of racism. Bangladeshis like Pakistanis and Indians are a mixed lot where on average they have slight built, medium to short height and brown skin with yellowish tinge. Indians did nothing. Pakistanis, particularly fat headed Pathan generals of Pakistan army and Bhutto screwed up very big time. Bengalis didn't want Bangladesh but autonomy under 6 points which could have been greatly watered down if Mujibur became PM and Pakistan army put pressure on him. It is only when the West Pakistani army attacked the East Pakistani civilians, military, paramilitary and police that the war cry for Bangladesh was raised.

  520. @SG Fact is, the Bengalis in East Bengal fought a 9 months long extremely bloody civil war to liberate their country. Indian army only intervened in the last 13 days when the border outposts were overrun by the Mukti Bahini as the Pakistani army was without any ammunition and supplies due to effective blockade by India. When Indira Gandhi asked Maneckshaw to attack Pakistan, he said Indian army is not prepared for war and India will lose the war and therefore he is willing to resign without pension as his wife is rich. He also mentioned the weather is not nice as monsoon was few months away therefore he wasn't willing to attack Pakistan. Fact is, Pakistan army in March 1971 was terribly unprepared as they were hastily deployed in PIA passenger jets to East Bengal separated by West Pakistan by more than 1000 miles of hostile territory. In March 1971, the Pakistani forces in East Bengal were quite small not exceeding 30,000 troops. By December of 1971 this had ballooned to more than 300,000 which included 200,000 local razakars recruited after June 1971. If India had attacked in April as directed by Indira Gandhi, India could not only easily defeat the small number of Pakistani troops in East Bengal but also saved several lakhs of Bengalis from being massacred by the Pakistan army and their local collaborators. It is the 9 months civil war waged by the Mukti Bahini consisting of Bengali troops from East Pakistan Rifles and East Bengal Regiment that led to the defeat of Pakistan army. Indian army entered the 9 months long Pakistani civil war in the last 13 days. It took us more than a month to clear the Golden temple and few days to clear a hotel of few teenage terrorists. A country of more than 70 million could never be liberated in 13 days. More than Indian army, credit goes to RAW which got in touch with Bengali nationalists in East Bengal after the 1965 war where East Bengal was left completely defenseless by the Pakistan army. Lack of defense in East Bengal played a major role in the defeat of Pakistan army in 1971.

  608. @Praveen Swami What you have mentioned is the popular narrative wrt 1971. Fact is roots of 1971 goes back to 1940 Lahore resolution for the creation of Pakistan on the following lines: "That geographically contiguous units are demarcated regions which should be constituted, with such territorial readjustments as may be necessary that the areas in which the Muslims are numerically in a majority as in the North Western and Eastern Zones of (British) India should be grouped to constitute ‘independent states’ in which the constituent units should be autonomous and sovereign." According to the Lahore resolution penned by a Khan and read out by a Bengali Fazlul Haq Pakistan was supposed to be a group of autonomous and sovereign independent states and not one nation state. The 1970 election was fought in East Pakistan on the basis of Mujibur's 6 points which basically meant 2 nations under one flag. The Pathan generals accepted this plan and therefore allowed the 1970 election with the demand for implementation of the 6 points. After Mujib won majority of the seats his greatest opposition didn't come from the Pathan and Punjabi dominated Pak military but by Sindhi Bhutto and the Mohajirs as there was a sizable Mohajir population in East Pakistan. Implementation of the 6 points would lead to Bhutto becoming the PM of West Pakistan while Mujib would be the PM of East Pakistan. So it's utter nonsense to say Bhutto wanted to be PM of Pakistan and therefore opposed Mujib. Fact is, condition of Sindh in Pakistan is not very different from that of East Pakistan in Pakistan. Both are economically strong regions with little to no presence in the Pakistan military and the government in Islamabad. Autonomy of East Pakistan as per 6 points would lead to entire burden of Pakistan with its humongous military with next to zero Sindhis falling on Sindh. Even today, without Sindh, Pakistan cannot exist.

  626. @SG You are not being honest. There were many Bengali presidents, prime ministers of Pakistan during the 23 years that East Pakistan aka Bangladesh was part of Pakistan. Opposition to Mujib was not because he was a Bengali but because of his 6 points which meant two countries under one flag. And this was acceptable to the Pathan military junta. Which is why the 1970 election plank for Awami League was the 6 points. If the military junta was averse to the 6 points of maximum autonomy to East Pakistan then they wouldn't conduct the election. It is only when Awami League got maximum number of seats the biggest opposition to Mujib came from Sindhi Bhutto. Sindh like East Bengal were alike in many ways. Both had large economy with negligible presence in the military. In 1970 as today, majority of the budget was spent on the Pathan and Punjabi dominated Pakistani military. Autonomy of the kind envisaged in 6 points would mean entire burden of Pakistan falling on Sindh. If Mujib's 6 points were implemented then Bhutto would automatically become PM of West Pakistan. Bhutto himself mentioned in an interview to a foreign press after the creation of Bangladesh that his biggest opposition to Mujib was over the 6 points in which East Pakistan would literally become a separate country. 6 points was not the brainchild of Mujib but the Bengali intellectuals particularly the Bengali economists. One Harvard educated Bengali economist had actually predicted breakup of Pakistan to General Ayub in 1960.

  678.  @arunsar7893  why center has been systematically been removing headquarters of government institutions and companies from Bengal?? What bigger proof do you need of what I have just mentioned?? Tata and that too Tata Nano?? You call that investment?? LOL! Tata Motors is a loss making company for last several years. In the world of automobile, Tatas have no name. People don't buy their cars within India. You need to listen to Modi's speech where he too made the same claim of New Delhi under Congress stopping investments in Gujarat. Can any private company or foreign investor dare to challenge the "advice" of the central government?? Private companies are here to do business which means being on the right side of the political fence. Federal?? Really?? Then why all taxes goes to central government and laws and policies farmed by central government ruled by a political party representing certain parts of India and certain ethnicities of the union of India?? India being lower than African countries in Global Hunger Index, lowest is press freedom index, lower than Bangladesh and bankrupt Srilanka in per capita GDP etc etc are not data?? My friend, there's no starvation deaths in Bengal whereas let alone Odisha people near NCR are reduced to eating salt n rotis. Look at Niti Aayog's states development indicators, Bengal is somewhere in the middle but most of the resources rich eastern states are at the bottom. Why?? It seems you are not aware Kolkata is one of the biggest hubs for startups. Sastasundar acquired by Flipkart/Walmart is based out of Kolkata. IIM Calcutta is one of the biggest incubation center for startups. Startups are not real companies. More than 90% fail.I am talking about companies who have established themselves. If IT companies came up in Rajarhat Salt Lake how are you saying WB missed the IT bus?? Let us abolish central government and states run their show which is the demand of several progressive states CMs. Let's see who goes where after that?? Gurgaon is basically a creation of Nehru Gandhi parivar through DLF. Majority of the industries in Gurgaon and adjoining areas have their own captive power plants as the state cannot supply adequate electricity to run Industries. What more proof do you want of central government meddling in development of the states??

Aap kaise kisi cheez ko hack kar sakte ho jab aap usko chune bhi nahi doge?? How will anyone know that EVMs have not been hacked?? Who checks the programming of the chips which run the EVMs?? Asli EVM hackathon me EVM ko 100 tukde me todh kar har ek part ko check kiya jata hai for vulnerabilities. How can one know the deficiencies of the system if one is not allowed to even touch the machine?? Ballot papers cannot be hacked. Elections are today conducted under the protection of heavily armed paramilitary forces. Hack proof ballot papers se election ladne mein BJP ka gaand kyon phat raha hai which was actually their demand prior to 2014 election?? In fact BJP's spokesperson GVL Rao has written a book on how EVMs can be hacked and why we need to revert back to paper ballots. 100 million middle class se below poverty line chale gaye hain aur aap development ki baat kar rahe ho?? Pura economy 2017 se thap aur aap development ki baat kar rahe ho jahan India is below Bangladesh in per capita GDP and below even Pakistan let alone Bangladesh and Nepal in global hunger index. India is the world's largest number of poor malnourished and stunted people. This looks like development to you?? 2019 lok sabha ke baad ek ke baad ek states BJP haar raha hai aur jahan jeet raha hai wahan paise ke bal par jeet raha hai. Jhooth aur kapat se kitna dur jaoge??

  781.  @vabhdman  I think you have no idea how PSUs are governed. There are several layers of internal and external vigilance and auditing agencies scrutinizing every activity in any government organization. Even if you receive "gifts" over a certain sum of money, you have to declare that to the government. CVC CBI CAG are few of the external agencies monitoring every government organization. Whereas, in Indian privately companies, corruption is a way of life and it has been institutionalized without anyone to check them. Can you tell me the name of one product from TCS?? TCS, like Infosys, gets large orders from the government due to huge donations to the ruling political parties. Except TCS, rest of Tata group companies are either running at loss or facing severe financial crisis which was brought out by Cyrus Mistry when he was the CEO of the group. How can you blame the government for not giving adequate parameters when government websites handled by Infosys keep crashing due to high traffic inflow? Nationalizing was wrong and so is controlling a subcontinent like India centrally which was never the plan when the British wanted to quit India. It was these business houses who made their wealth under British rule who were vehemently opposed to the 1946 cabinet mission plan of strong autonomous states with few activities being managed centrally as that would lead to end of their monopoly. Withdrawal of Congress from cabinet mission plan led to the partition of India and not Hindu Muslim divide as we have been led to believe. Prosperity will only happen when states manage their own show and centralized rule is brought down to the bare minimum.

After clearing the exam there is group discussion, interview and medical after which one becomes an employee of a PSU. You have no idea how stringent tendering process is in PSUs. You have vigilance and internal auditors watching every step internally and CBI CAG etc externally. Both TCS and Infosys are dependent on government contracts for their very survival. Why these products are unknown to the public?? Even in the corporate B2B world these products are unheard of. Government held companies are very fast in clearing payments unless there's a corrupt official handling the payment process. There's fixed timeline and well defined process for clearing payments as everything is now governed by ERP. This is what we are discussing and debating about... inefficient, corrupt, loss making private companies being propped up by the government. This is what the NPA mess is all about which has bankrupted India's entire financial system. When you are the subject matter expert, isn't it your job to understand the customer's requirement?? It is an extremely bad businessman who will blame his customer. This is the problem with our private sector which is why they perennially need protection which makes India into a closed corrupt poverty-stricken economy and country. If business houses were brought to their knees then Tata, Birla, Dalmia, Goenka, Godrej etc wouldn't be around. There would be no Adani Ambani who are basically billionaires created by politicians.

  803. @Guptaji To know why there can't be real peace in North East, you need to go back in history. North East was a Bengali kingdom called Kamrupa which was invaded by Chinese Ahoms in circa 1200 CE and renamed to Oxom which the British Anglicized to Assam. Assam was invaded and occupied by the Burmese starting from circa 1400 CE to 1800 CE. In 1832 CE, East India Company liberated Assam from Burma and returned it back to india but with population consisting of people who are of Chinese or Burmese origin who have never considered themselves as Indians. With the communists taking over China in 1949 they started eyeing India's North East and instigated insurgencies in North East with the aid of military junta in Burma which never reconciled loss of North East to India. The people of Chinese or Burmese origin in India's North East will never integrate with India which is why they pressurized BJP government to introduce "Inner Line Permits" in large parts of North East which prevents people from rest of India to freely travel or settle in these parts. The tea garden Adivasi workers, Biharis, Marwaris and Bengalis have been regular targets of these people which is why the Adivasis and Bengalis particularly Muslim Assamese and Bengalis picked up arms as a response. Recently, a border dispute between BJP ruled Assam and Mizoram led to fire fight between the two states' police leading to the death of 6 Assam policemen. The recent lull in North East has got more to do with civil war in Burma, the main instigator of insurgencies in NE, than peace initiatives by India. BJP is trying to appease these anti India forces as they have helped BJP to come to power in NE on the back of anti Bengali sentiments which runs very high in NE.

  854. @iaf010  1) If Chinese investments are not allowed how so many Chinese companies are operating in India and Indian markets flooded with Chinese products leading to more than 100 billion dollars trade deficit with China our #1 enemy? 2) How then an investment by an American with pro China sentiments become a national security issue and direct Chinese investment in Adani does not become a national security issue? 3) Where's the proof that Newsclick got funding from Chinese government and Adani did not get funding from the Chinese government? There's evidence that PM Care and Rajiv Gandhi foundation got Chinese funding. Now they too stand accused of receiving funds from India's #1 enemy and working for Chinese interests which has led to a staggering more than 100 billion dollars trade deficit with China. 5) why BJP changed the law with retrospective effect when Supreme Court ordered BJP to disclose its sources of foreign funding?? 6) what kind of PM meets more than 20 times leader of India's #1 enemy and gaily swings on the jhula with him? 7) If that be the case, then why trade deficit with China is only growing and not decreasing? How India ended up with more than 100 billion dollars trade deficit with China during Modi's 9 years rule? 8) This still doesn't explain how Chinese investments in India jumped 5 times within 3 years of Modi becoming PM of India? 9) Modi has been ruling India since 2014 and Galwan happened in 2020. After the clash in Galwan. Chinese troops occupied 2000 kms of additional Indian territory. Indian troops occupied some areas under Chinese control but were forced to vacate by Modi sarkar leading to reoccupation of those areas by Chinese troops in addition to nearly 2000 kms of additional Indian territory. 10) If Indian troops have been denied rights to patrol Indian territory by Chinese soldiers what does this tells you? Why Modi even refuses to name China after the Galwan crisis??

  889. The indigenous people are the tribals. Non tribals are not natives of the state. Jharkhand being rich in minerals developed far more than Bihar. But all government companies, institutions and non government commercial enterprises, businesses are almost completely under non tribals from outside the state who look down on the tribals. Which is why the major towns, cities have very small tribal population. This marginalization of tribals in their own land by non tribals due to policies of the central government and Bihar government led to the agitation by the tribals for creation of a state for the tribals. The way you talked about Jharkhand at the beginning, is exactly how the non tribals feel about the tribal population. Jharkhand is very important because it makes India self reliant on almost every mineral. It is also extremely crucial from a security point of view because it is the heart of the red corridor which according to ex PM MMS is the biggest threat to India. Only a thin sliver of land called West Bengal separates it from China and the restive north east where insurgencies are aided and abetted by China. Even in north Bengal there's a large Jharkhandi tribal population who work as landless laborers in the tea gardens and other agricultural activities. This is where the Naxal movement started for the empowerment of these Jharkhandi tribals in North Bengal brought by the British to work in their tea gardens. You have China and the Chicken's neck in the north, you have major separatist movements backed by China in NE and the Maoists in Jharkhand. If all three join forces with support from Maoist Nepal, India will face mother and father of 1962.

  901. Extremely flawed analysis. BJP will find it tough to woo the tribals of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh non BJP states. People of South have no connect with BJP's Hindu Hindi baniya brand of politics. BJP has won Karnataka not because of Modi or BJP's ideology but because of extremely weak opposition and strongman Yeddyurappa who is no longer CM. The two bellwether states of UP and Bihar, BJP is in a sticky wicket. BJP narrowly managed to win Bihar because RJD gave too many seats to Congress. UP again BJP didn't win by a comfortable margin. Rajasthan is a non BJP state but there's a strong chance of BJP coming back to power. North India i.e. Punjab and J&K, BJP is a non entity. Outside the Hindi belt in which I don't count tribal states of Jharkhand and Chhattisgarh, BJP is either not present or in the opposition. Within the Hindi belt it faces stiff opposition from the strong regional OBC political parties in UP and Bihar. With the decimation of Congress, AAP is going to emerge as the main rival to BJP in the Hindi belt outside Yadav dominated UP Bihar. In this scenario, getting 200 let alone 270 is a big challenge which is why BJP has gone paranoid doing everything to decimate the opposition in Maharashtra, New Delhi and West Bengal. BJP is so desperate that it has given sons of the soil status to several Muslim communities in Assam. If Congress, TMC and AIUDF combine in Assam, it is curtains for BJP as BJP has no base in Assam. Similar is the case in Tripura where people like rest of North East have no connect with BJP's ideology.

  902.  @tomriddle4110    Yo, so says a bhakt hiding behind a "Tom Riddle."😆 🤣 😂 😹 People of Assam are 180 degrees opposite to what BJP stands for. BJP is only playing on to anti Bengali sentiments in North East and tons of money to buy political leaders in this region. Without money and anti Bengali anti Muslim rhetoric BJP can make no inroads in NE. In Hindi belt, it is caste and nothing else which matters. If free and fair elections are held in UP Bihar with paper ballots BJP will not get even half the seats as the Muslims Dalits OBCs who together constitute more than 70% of the population consider BJP as political party of Hindu upper castes the sworn enemy of these people. Marathis consider Gujaratis as their arch enemies. After what Adani Ambani sarkar did to Shiv Sena there's going to be a strong anti Gujarati sentiment at least among the Marathis in Mumbai. Shiv Sena did stray from their Marathi Manoos ideology which is why they are in such mess. All they have to do is strong course correction. We will only get to know future of Maharashtra after Mumbai municipal election. South Indians like people of North East, Adivasis, Dalits and Muslims absolutely abhor what BJP stands for which is upper caste Indo Aryan Hindu Hindi cow belt hegemony. You only have to checkout utterances of Congress ex CM Siddaramiah and actions of KRV blacking out Hindi names in Bangalore. Same mindset exists among Telegus who won't vote anyone other than their Telegu Bidda. Who said I am a supporter of Congress?? For me Congress is pseudo secular BJP and BJP is saffron Congress . Both are one and the same shyt keeping the whole subcontinent in gobar age.

1065. @General 1971 war was won by the Bengalis after fighting a 9 months extremely bloody civil war. When Indira Gandhi ordered Gen Sam Maneckshaw to attack East Pakistan at the end of April 1971, Sam Maneckshaw offered his resignation letter stating Indian army was not prepared and the weather was not nice for an invasion therefore Indian army would lose the battle. This cowardly reply is celebrated in India. Fact is in April 1971, the West Pakistani army was small in number and didn't have any supply line connected to West Pakistan. By December of 1971, the Pakistan army had ballooned to nearly 300,000 with the addition of Razakars. There was no need for Indian army to directly attack East Pakistan but support the East Bengal Regiment, East Pakistan Rifles to attack the few West Pakistani troops in East Pakistan at the end of April 1971. If this happened lakhs and perhaps millions of lives would have been saved. The East Bengal Regiment and East Bengal Rifles along with Bengali volunteers fought the West Pakistani army for 9 extremely bloody months. By October of 1971, the border outposts had been overrun by the Mukti Bahini and West Pakistani troops were on the backfoot as they were extremely low on supplies and ammunition in a hostile country. The Indian army only entered in the last 13 days of a 9 months long civil war. In Srilanka it was another fiasco. Tamil Nadu and RAW were supplying and supporting LTTE while Indian army was fighting the LTTE in a completely unfamiliar terrain.

1087. @SG Pakistan did extremely well in the mid sixties due to massive aid from USA after Pakistan became a part of CENTO and SEATO. There was again massive aid from Arab countries and USA after Pakistan broke up in 1971. Ironically, Pakistan was responsible for the patch up between USA and China in 1972, a year after Pakistan broke up into two. 1978 Soviet Invasion of Afghanistan was another major windfall for Pakistan as flow of funds from USA and gulf countries sky rocketed. This good time lasted till 1990. With the pull out of USSR from Afghanistan and collapse of USSR, not only funds from USA stopped coming but Pakistan faced all kinds of sanctions due to its clandestine nuclear program. This is when Pakistan's economy showed signs of trouble. Then 9/11 happened and Pakistan's good days started. With the pullout of USA from Afghanistan in 2021, and trickling down of aid from Arab countries, the true nature of Pakistan and Pakistan's economy is starkly visible before us. Your talk of Pakistan's economy being better than India was and still is dependent on foreign aid. India as far as I know was never dependent on foreign aid even in our worst days. Till 1960s East Pakistan had a larger economy than West Pakistan. The coup in 1958, accentuated siphoning off resources from East by West Pakistan which ultimately led to 1971 and break up of Pakistan. Forget India, today Bangladesh is almost 460 billion dollars economy whereas Pakistan is around 350 billion dollars economy. This is smaller than the economy of Maharashtra.

How can they be poorly manufactured if HAL uses the same equipment and manufacturing process as the OEM? Just because it is being built by Indians suddenly something becomes bad? Those fighters which have a bad reputation are Soviet fighters, which have limited shelf life. If you use something way past its expiry date, what do you expect? It is corrupt IAF, which deliberately kept changing specs of Tejas every time it reached finalization, leading to long delays. It is Manohar Parrikar who forced IAF to induct Tejas, only after which things speeded up. The result of the delay in the induction of Tejas has led to India being unprepared vis a vis China and loss of lives due to flying fighters way past their expiry date. If IAF gave measly order, how can HAL increase the assembling capacity as parts of Tejas are being manufactured by Adani, Ambani, Tata etc? What will you say about those ORMs who have no qualms in jumping in bed with bankrupt, corrupt companies having absolutely no connection with aerospace engineering while doing everything to avoid partnering with HAL as it will lead to real transfer of technology to india? Where is loss making "Horn OK Please" Tata's own plane??? Why are we importing a foreign aircraft at inflated prices, which SG doesn't say, through a manufacturer of trucks, salt, coffee, watches, jewelry etc?? What's happening?

It is because of the 9 months long civil war waged by the Mukti Bahini consisting of East Bengal Regiment, East Pakistan Rifles, police and Bengali civilians who took up arms that led to liberation of Bangladesh. India intervened only in the last 13 days of a 9 months long civil war when the West Pakistani forces were already on the backfoot due to effective blockade of East Pakistan both by Indian Air force and the Indian navy. When India intervened, the West Pakistani forces were without any food, ammunition, supplies and reinforcement. Fact is when Indira Gandhi asked Maneckshaw to attack Pakistan in April 1971, he said he is unprepared and India will lose the war therefore he is willing to resign. How can an army chief say this after India had fought a war with Pakistan only 6 years ago? Fact is, East Pakistan was separated from West Pakistan by more than 1000 miles of hostile territory known as India. In March/April 1971, Pakistan didn't have a large force in East Pakistan and they didn't have any tanks or heavy artillery even till the end of the 9 months long Pakistani civil war. If India attacked in April 1971, when Pakistani forces were quite small and the East Pakistani military and paramilitary forces had rebelled against the West Pakistanis, India could have not only easily defeated West Pakistani forces but also saved several lakhs of lives that were massacred during the 9 months civil war. From March 1971 to December 1971, West Pakistani forces in East Pakistan had ballooned from 30,000/40,000 to more than 300,000 troops. The West Pakistanis managed to create a force of more than 200,000 by recruiting local Biharis and pro Pakistani Bengalis. If Sam Bahadur had shown bahaduri and attacked Pakistan when he was asked by the PM instead of offering to resign, Bangladesh would truly be liberated by India. Fact is the Bengalis fought a 9 months civil war with support from India and USSR which is missing from the popular narrative to liberate their country.

1224.  @zzzzz653  There's a saying, little knowledge is dangerous. You are best proof of this adage. where's the proof that Mauryan empire stretched from Afghanistan to Tamil Nadu?? If that has been the case you would find some evidence of Mauryan occupation in Tamil Nadu and Afghanistan. And even if for argument sake we do accept that the Mauryans managed to occupy kingdoms from Afghanistan to Tamil Nadu it was no different from Maratha occupation of India from Attock to Cuttack. It was an occupation no different from East India Company occupation or Mughal occupation of the subcontinent. What you have quoted about Megasthenes literally means India is a square shaped country, bound by Greece aka Ariana, Taurus mountain in Turkey, Caucas mountain in Georgia . Do you see any resemblance to this with even British India?? 30 stadia means 5 kms wide. Where do you find Ganges with 5 kms width anywhere in the country let alone at the source at Gaumukh where even today there are no motorable roads and people have to travel by foot or on horses?? Gangaridai was a Bengali kingdom different from Mauryan Kingdom. If Ganges empties in the eastern boundary of Gangaridai then most probably today's Jharkhand and Bihar were also a part of Gangaridai kingdom if we go by this description. Ganges, doesn't runs from North to South but in central India from west to east. There's another Ganges river which is today known as Mekong which flows from north to south. Original name of Mekong is Maa Gange in Sanskrit Maa Gonga in Bengali which the Chinese called Mei gonghe which became Mekong. I'll end this comment by advising you to practice what you preach. Please read and more importantly understand before you post anything in your comment.
