  1. India has been invaded and occupied by several waves of foreign invaders of whom the Europeans were the last but first to leave the subcontinent. Those who invaded the subcontinent prior to the Europeans are still present often with hostile relation with the indigenous people. This is the root of casteism, regionalism, linguistic/ethnic/religious/racial clashes across India.
