Meitei are not Indians or natives of Manipur but Tai Chinese from Yunnan. The natives of Manipur like Kamrupa aka undivided Assam were Bengalis. We know Kamrupa was invaded by Tai Chinese Ahoms in circa 1200 CE. Our history books are completely silent when the Tai Chinese invaded and occupied Manipur. Manipur and other parts of NE faced invasions from Burma from circa 1400 CE and subsequently went under Burmese occupation. It is in 1832 East India Company liberated North East from Burma but with majority Chinese and Burmese origin people who have never considered themselves as Indians to this day. This is the crux of never ending insurgencies in NE supported by both China and Burma. All governments which have ruled New Delhi have suppressed the history of north east and illegally have been passing off Chinese and Burmese origin people as ST, SC, OBC which has led to the current mess in Manipur. The Meitei and Ahoms are Sinic people with no connection with Tibet. So don't call them Sino Tibetan people as Tibetans are very different from Sinic people.

Entire South East Asia used to be Indic and Hindu prior to large scale Chinese migration from 1000 CE fleeing Mongol invasion of China. Irrawady is a Hindu name just like Mekong which used to be known as Ma Ganga.

@sagapamkeshav2385 Meitei are Tai Chinese from Yunnan. Chinese are indigenous people of Manipur?? How everything about Manipur is Bengali and not Chinese?? Don't give the BS that few Bengalis influenced large number of Chinese to adopt Bengali culture, customs, religion etc.

Original name of Cambodia is Kamboj, Original name of Indonesia and Malaysia is Srivijaya, Original name of South Vietnam is Champa. Do a Google search on "Mahendra Parvata". Check out where it is located. River Irrawaddy is named after Indira's elephant. Mekong is actually mispronouncement Ma Ganga.

@@Lightmisst Meitei and Ahoms are Tai Chinese. Manipur was always a part of India and not China. Buddhism also went from India to China. The religion of Tai people isn't Hinduism or Buddhism.

@rupee5020 Nepali and Tibetan are as foreign as Chinese in Manipur. Tai people are not Nepalis or Tibetans. There will be some miscegenation between the Tai, Burmese and Bengalis over last few centuries.

@scullakaroung7734 Correct the tei in Meitei stands for Tai just like Thai is actually Tai. The Ahoms, Meitei, Thai and perhaps the Vietnamese are Tai people from southern China.

@jivsvlogs2399 Meitei are Tai Chinese. Manipur sounds like Chinese to you?? Since when Manipur was a part of China? Bengal is a Persian name for the region occupied by the Afghans and Turks. Today's Bengal, Bangladesh, NE and perhaps parts of SE Asia were populated by people we call Bengalis today. Bengali is again Persian name of the people under Afghan and Turkic occupation.

So this place only became Kangleipak after large scale Tai Chinese invasion and immigration to these parts of India. The most ancient historical, culture, customs, archeological, anthropological artifacts are all Indic, Hindu and Bengali not Tai or Sino Burmese. Give me one Meitei evidence in Manipur that predates 1000 CE?

@PankajSaikia20 look at your name and DNA. Anyone in NE who doesn't have Bengali DNA is either an outsider from UP Bihar and other parts of India or Chinese and Burmese immigrants. This will be borne out through DNA study. Prior to 1200 CE Tai Chinese invasion and occupation of NE it used to be a collection of Bengali kingdoms. Fact. Period.

@jivsvlogs2399 Manipur is in Odisha?? Then you will say Tripura, Kamrupa, Pragjyotisha, Dimapur land of Hidimba are also in Odisha and Chhattisgarh?? Look at the language, culture, religious practices, blood of the real indigenous people, most ancient historical artifacts etc etc etc they are all Bengali not Chinese or Burmese. This is how Manipur, Tripura and undivided Assam aka Kamrupa are parts of India although the population is largely of Sino Burmese origin.

@Xiaa_Jyoti_Jingpho Koch Rajbongshi and so called tribals of NE are not Indians but Sino Burmese people. Kamrupa Tripura Manipur were always a part of India and not China. These were Bengali kingdoms prior to Tai Chinese and Burmese invasion and occupation from 1200CE to 1832CE.

Similarly Kamrupa undivided Assam, Manipur, Tripura first went under Tai Chinese occupation followed by Burmese occupation till 1832CE. 1832CE East India Company liberated North East from Burma and returned to India but with majority Chinese and Burmese origin people many who have adopted local culture and customs similar to Bengalis but have never accepted themselves as Indians. This is the crux of the never ending insurgency and unrests in NE supported by China and Burma to this day. Burma has never accepted loss of NE and China covets NE. These are hard facts and not imagination of my mind.

@pariwanglen2860 How do you know mongoloid Chinese and Burmese are Kiratas?? The Kiratas are described as danavas by the Indo Aryans. Mongoloid people are Danavas and Dasus?? The most ancient historical, linguistical, archeological, anthropological, cultural etc of NE are all Bengali and not Sino Burmese which is what mongoloid people are.
