@ritajaray3504 Maneckshaw had no plans. When Indira Gandhi asked him to attack Pakistan he said India will lose the war and therefore he is willing to resign. If the Bengalis didn't fight a 9 months long civil war, there would be no Bangladesh. India entered only in the last 13 days of a 9 months long civil war.

@indianskeptic3451 here in India we are made to believe Bangladesh was created by India. Yes, India did help in the creation of Bangladesh. But, Bangladesh was created by the Bengalis by fighting a nine months long civil war where West Pakistani forces in East Bengal were not getting any supplies from West Pakistan due to effective blockade by the Indian navy and air force. Without ammunition and supplies, there's no way Pakistan army could continue the civil war. The West Pakistani forces had 2 options either they surrender to Mukti Bahini or to the Indian army which entered Pakistani civil war as a facesaver for West Pakistani forces. Today's Pakistan never accepted the Bengalis and Mohajirs from India as one of them. With so much ethnic and racial diversity, Pakistan cannot exist as a nation. Even today there's open conflict between the Indic Punjabis Sindhis and Iranic Pathans Balochs.

Forget Bangladeshis. West Pakistan, never accepted even the Mohajirs from India. West Pakistan itself is a divided house where the Indic Punjabis and Sindhis are on the one side and the Iranic Pathans and Balochs on the other. Bangladesh has been an independent country for last more than half a century. They have little to do with India let alone Pakistan separated by more than 1000 miles of hostile territory. The Bangladeshis are a separate people. ISI backed Jamat may have gained a short victory just like the Taliban in Afghanistan. The Bangladeshi nationalists are going to put the pro Pakistani elements back in their place. The average Bangladeshi doesn't likes India but they don't have any love for Pakistan either.
