Era of manned fighters, tanks, battleships and submarines is coming to a close. Future belongs to unmanned military systems which have long endurance and cost less in comparison to conventional military systems. The role of superior situational awareness coupled with AI, will prove a game changer.

@Snehesh 1971 was a success, because much of the fighting was done by the Mukti Bahini in a 9 months civil war. India entered the Pakistan civil war only in the last 13 days when Pakistani forces were without ammo and supplies as they were completely cut off from West Pakistan. India couldn't replicate its success in East in West Pakistan due to which POK still remains with Pakistan.

@Jayaraj NairĀ initially China will win but it cannot sustain a long drawn conflict as its supply lines over the impassable Tibetan plateau are few, thin and extremely long drawn vulnerable to attack. India doesn't face this issue.

Our military was created by the British more to subjugate the natives of the British empire rather than to defend the nation. We continued with the British India Army without any change after 1947. This is the biggest flaw in both India's and Pakistan's military which did the same. The military, particularly the Army needs to be structured around current and future threats. For this to happen we need massive restructuring of our armed forces. Where technology is playing a major role, the foot soldier cannot be the mainstay of the military. This is leading to a situation where out of 300,000 crores defense budget, almost 150,000 crores is only towards pension and medical for pensioners.
