  2. Its amazing that she found a doctors trying to help her. My son has a rare disease that is so rare they categorize it as a super orphan disease. The coincidence is 1 in half a billion. More comman obviously than Mandy's disease. What I've learned as a mother of a child with a rare disease is there is no incentive to find a cure or treatment if the numbers aren't there to make money for the drug companies to fund research for the doctors. Its such a brutal industry that is built on financial gain. She's lucky there is an existing medication that works.
