I am amazed that people seriously believe consciousness is going to magically arise in a bunch of electrical wiring. I blame public education.

@guffmuff90 I've lived long to enough to realize that nothing is 100% certain...and I don't want to completely disregard that realization, so I guess there's that 0.0001% that it could happen. I mean it happened once before, although many believe it never happened and in fact it's always been and always will be. Anywho, in my humble opinion even some of the best minds who are working on this are being seduced by this idea of a conscious machine, seduced to the point of not thinking clearly. I've been coding for many years...and although a machines can to appear show an amazing display of what presents itself like awareness, what's running in the background and a bunch of loops and daemons.

@johntowers1213 That mechanism isn't very well understood...But if you get a man and a woman together, they can create another point of consciousness.
