The megalithic structures he's referring to at Machu Picchu and Cusco are pre-Inca. Brien Foerster is a very knowledgeable researcher who has done extensive studies on these megalithic sites. He's been to these places probably over 100 times. Brien theorizes that the Inca found these sites which could date back as far as 12,000 years ago. We know that the Inca did not build the megalithic structures because the known structures that the Inca build were rudimentary in construction compared to the megalithic structures. They just build OVER the megalithic structures, and that's clear to see when you visit these sites. The biggest megalithic structures weigh over 1,000 tons while the biggest Inca stones barely weight a ton. The the Spanish came and built over the Inca structures with mud walls and hay. So really Machu Picchu is made up of three different construction methods. On a side note: Brien also found that the Great Pyramids of Giza have similar construction methods to the megalithic structures found in Peru, also dating back to 12,000 years ago.
