I think he answered his own question, and this has always been my belief, we're here BECAUSE consciousness is ubiquitous

@irena7777777 Not necessarily. Again, this is all impossible to confirm, but my gut feeling is that death is an illusion..I think the age old theory of reincarnation is a good start. I think we've been here a billion times before. Or maybe this is all just a dream and upon waking you wake up to another reality. Maybe when we die, we wake up! Not unlike when you're having a bad dream and wake up out of fear. Another possibility is that death sends you into alternate realities (I've had my fair share of entheogenic trips to affirm that those trips feel more real and concrete than our waking life, which is something that's almost impossible to convey with words...but you can easily, or not so easily confirm for yourself. I completely condone the responsible use of mind altering but natural substances, like mushrooms, dmt. I did't want this to turn into a topic about drugs, but I think they play a monumental role in understanding consciousness because said substances lift the veil of preconceived notions that we learn through life.

@irena7777777 There are other ways, like meditation, but that takes years to master. I don't think there is such a thing as a bad trip..those substances just show you what you need to see, some people aren't prepared. I've eaten mushrooms a hundred times and I always feel anxiety on the come up, but have never had a "bad trip." The reason they can be "scary" is because of ego loss. Your ego is how you relate to this world right, and when that's taken away from you, it can seem very scary if you're not prepared. But they show you what you need to see. Use a sitter if you want to experiment. If you're serious start with a low dose, .5 to 1 gram so you're familiar with the sensation, but fair warning..from 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 grams, the strength increases exponentially. So it's not like 3 grams will feel 3 times stronger than 1 gram.

He's also concerned that aliens may want to eat us while we've eaten pretty much every living thing on the planet.

@irena7777777 That's part of it. It's not easy to explain and impossible to confirm. Statistically speaking, if we ARE the only planet in the known universe, don't you find it rather striking that you exist at all? That you're here to experience all this? Statistically speaking, you won the universal lottery. If we are the only planet, and consciousness is an epiphenomenon of the brain, you shouldn't exist at all. The odds are monumentally stacked against you (one little earth in this enormous universe). However..if consciousness is ubiquitous, life springs up into consciousness, anywhere in the universe where the conditions for life exist...which will be almost everywhere since the basic elements for life are everywhere. Think about that... Hope it makes as much sense to you as it makes to me.

@NegraLi34 I think we’ve discovered about 5,000 exoplanets… and considering that every star has at least one planet, there are more planets than stars out there. We’ve just begun searching. My prediction is the first planet we find that can sustain biological life, there’s sure to be life there. It may take much longer to find intelligent life. But it’s out there in my opinion.
