  1. go to kitchen knife forums and you'll find tons of people who can't cook for shit and own thousands of dollars worth of knives. You wouldn't be alone. It's like "blues collectors" folks who collect guitars but can't play. It annoys me a little bit both as a chef and guitar player.

  4. @Wristaria way more than that... I learned about it in David Foster Wallace's book Consider the Lobster. A lobster is an overgrown roach that lives in the ocean, genetically speaking.

  5. @Wristaria Right, because insects don't live on the ocean floor, crustaceans do. I mean we all have a common ancestor, but if you can get past labels and look at the anatomical similarities....if I had a cockroach big enough you'd probably fail a blind taste test.
