  1. This dude got adaptation all wrong. Snakes didn't "realize" that wagging their tail brought in more birds. In evolutionary theory there's a concept called variance in design... in other words because biology isn't perfect, mutations occur. Sometimes those mutations benefit the next of kin, as this continues down the line and the animals with the best mutations out-breed everyone else, the result being a snake with a tail that resembles a spider. Anyway, that's the accepted consensus on how things evolve. I don't know, maybe he was dumbing it down, but unlikely judging by other clips I've seen.
