  2. Democracy doesn't work , or any form of government for that matter, because it tends to parish be excess of its basic principle. Democracy ruins itself by excess... of democracy. Its basic principle is the equal right of all to hold office and determine public policy. At first glance it's a delightful arrangement. It becomes disastrous because the people are not properly equipped by education to select the best and wisest rulers. They have no understanding and repeat what their rulers tell them.
