  4. That really doesnt make any sense, the US military is anything but a militia, it's under direct control of the federal government. The original purpose of the second amendment was a defense against any kind of tyranny from government. Even if you wanted to take this militia angle, who's to say that people cant simply say they're in a militia, or form their own, and then have the right to bare arms.
