Hilario Yanez is the perfect example of the difference between a "Giver" and a "Taker" and as a conservative I would not have an issue with people like him being granted citizenship.

@deweylasv And if you listened to the man speak? He SAID straight out that he is willing to do whatever is necessary for a CHANCE and that he is a Conservative Republican...

@Green Giant He is WILLING to do whatever for a CHANCE, that is not the same thing as just handing him citizenship.

@jorgeivanmanjarrezbarraza1418 What are you talking about? You do know that people can LEARN" how to "READ" body language and tell if someone is being genuine or not... Or do they not have that skill on your Planet? The man is being authentic and sincere. He is not "Full of It"... Not one bit of what he says has any inflections of being false.

@Green Giant One... He cannot join the military as he is not a citizen. Two... He is as much a victim of circumstance as any other. Through no fault of his own... His parent(s) should be deported, they broke the law. He should have to take a number and stand in line to apply for citizenship. That goes without saying... Go back and "read" my original post. I have ZERO sympathies for ANY "Takers"... That includes those who take for granted their citizenship. But someone who is a "Giver" and who expresses true intent? Deserves the benefit of the doubt and the "Opportunity" to make right...

@Green Giant That must be new then as back in '84 when I enlisted you had to be a citizen or have a green card...

@jorgeivanmanjarrezbarraza1418 I am not unsympathetic Jorge... Truly... The problem that many MANY people (citizen or not) fail to understand is that there are ALWAYS "Consequences" for the choices that we make and the actions that we take. I also have absolutely no doubt that you worked hard for your education and to pay your obligations... But let me ask you this... If your parent(s) had stayed in their country of origin and raised you there... Would they (you) have had to work hard to pay for their (your) obligations? See that is why "I Know" you have worked hard... But everybody does because that is what you do in life and its not special. It is also NOT a reason to violate the law... Consequences apply to everyone every day and Justice HAS to be blind to "Circumstance" and only weigh the "Facts" of the matter. Accepting that is part of the "Cost" of living in a "Free" Society.
