I wouldn't go for money... They would use those optics against you in the end as a negative. Instead, I would sue for compensation of cost and fees and A FULL AND PUBLIC apology and if cash was the only thing on the table? There would be a stipulation that there was NOT going to be an NDA. They got to malign someone's character on the National Platform to millions of people. There would be NO NDA... Because I would make certain that I would be allowed to speak to those millions of people who were lied to and be allowed to let them know how much lying and maligning someone cost.
