Or we could admit that the "Standard American Diet" is indeed "SAD" , that humans didn't evolve with the need to eat a certain level of calories daily. That we were meant to hunt and gather BECAUSE food would never be so plentiful that we would be able to eat "Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner... Plus a few snacks for added energy" (I am rolling my eyes for emphasis). Humans were meant to eat when they had food and FAST when no food was available (there is a clue in "Break"FAST btw). The human body evolved two separate power sources. Glucose (from sugar) for quick short-term energy bursts. and Ketosis (from fat) for long-term efficient energy production. Fat burns longer than glucose. Think Gasoline Engine (sugar) vs Diesel Engine (oil/fat). Sugar is what makes us fat. Excess sugar is processed by the Liver into Fat that is then stored (for Ketosis, but only after we burn up all the excess sugar- BLA HA HA- oh wait I am serious). Eating fat DOES NOT make us fat nor does eating it make us gain weight. Weight gain happens when all the sugars we consume get converted into fat to be stored (many people have NAFLD "nonalcoholic fatty liver disease" and don't realize it.) Because our liver gets overworked and cannot keep up with the conversion of sugars into fat and moving the fat out into storage, it builds up in our liver.
