Ugh! I had a sciatica attack that went down my left buttocks and thigh... Hurts like a MOFU. I've also had a smooshed C5 that pressed the nerve. It's hard to explain that to folks that have never had that too. The pressure on the nerve causes satellite or broadcast effects. I forgot what the Dr. called it. But basically, you get weird things that happen in what seem to be unrelated parts of the body. I had shoulder pain, weird sensations around my lower stomach, pins, needles, and creepy crawlies over the right side of my face. There was also a muscle/tendon that froze and at first, they thought I had a torn rotator because I couldn't lift my left arm past a certain point. But the "Smoosh" caused the muscle/tendon to lock and all it took to unlock it (a few weeks after the fact) was a mild muscle relaxer.
