"A farcical pretext" oh that's funny, I thought self determination was an important democratic principle worth fighting for, no ?

37:50 "British outrage over two states pledging not to go to war with each other" but why, isn't avoiding war not what Britain wanted ?
13
they make them themselves

@hunterwatkins714 when you're a plutocratic state obviously

"A quote everyone can agree on regardless of what ideology they have" - Human.

@hunterwatkins714 You can't justify contemporaries with something in the future. Do you think general plan ost would have even been thought about if Poland gave back Danzig? Im not so sure. I'm sure, had Germany military guaranteed Ireland and then actively told them to fight Britain and had such a war broke out would it all be Britains fault ?. Of course it wouldn't. Yet that's what happened with Poland and Germany.

We'd probably see the EU formed in 1930 instead of 1950 if Germany won ww1
5
if germany only had u-boats then the RN would have focused on anti-sub warfare so building some surface ships wasn't a bad idea, though in hindsight and with better luck the Bismarck and some support ships could have done alot of damage. It should have waited for its support ships before setting off to the Atlantic

@doaftheloaf yes and from 1933-1939 they tried to court Poland as a partner in going east

Eh, this is literally what those men fought and died for. They were fighting for a society like this, not a happy homogenous society like in Germany which they sought to destroy.

It wouldn't be certain but when you look at how naval-air combat actually unfolded in the war, you'll see that it very much favoured the air. Particularly in the East where Japanese land based air forces destroyed the British navy in numerous cases.

makes little difference really, just minor semantics

@brucemarsico6 I mean Canada is technically in America as in North America, and its not like it would matter if the US was involved in the war, Churchill would probably work to have Canada and US as a single political entity like how he proposed the Franco-British union

"If Britain won the war we'd all be speaking English" but I guess it's true in a sense.

Indeed the tarnation of Chamberlain is one of the strangest part of British propaganda. It's a good thing that we destroyed Europe, yet at the same time we hate Chamberlain who started the war in the first place.... ? War is bad yet at the same time gott straffe Chamberlain for not starting it earlier ?
1
@ameyas7726 its not just a british panel, its a distinctly BBC, posh, southern middle class panel.
1
@andrewcarter7503 People say "navy strong" but this just seems to fly in the face of how the war actually turned out, you only need to look at the Pacific War where land based aircraft smashed the British Eastern Fleet in numerous instances.
1
hahah epic xD tells you everything you need to know about this lot
1
Indeed, but people only do so due to propaganda. It's the only explanation why people actually think Churchill is a hero lol

No they never fought for the common man's "freedom", they fought for the bankers freedom to extort nations, that's what Plutocrat's mean when they speak of freedom.
