I left because the anti-intellectualism on the right became more and more retarded. But it really started with Bush's illegal invasion of Iraq and the gutting of workers rights in his second term that began my journey away from American conservativism. When you have no sense of nuance and you fear ambiguity and think intuition and gut instinct is more important than analysis and skepticism like many conservatives seem to then there's something wrong with you. Screw that way of thinking. That's dumb.
