There's a labor shortage because too many people say, 'F it! I'm not working at a starting pay of less than $13 an hour. Are you kidding?' Time to pay people who work full time a living wage.

As a general rule, don't idolize wealthy businessmen. Most of them have few talents other than turning a profit while leeching off the talents of the workers. You should hear the horror stories of musicians who were swindled by the music industry. These people are just leeches who leech off the talents of others. Capitalism thrives on the theft of labor value by the business owner. It's a feudalistic system.

Antiunion workers are some of the dumbest people.

Nothing that a rich CEO says is true. Or the corporate media. All liars! The media was more honest before the Reagan appointed FCC chairman got rid of the Fairness Doctrine. It's sad how many have been brainwashed to vote for the interests of the rich, rather than their own best interests.
2
Will we raise it to $15 an hour? Not with Republicans controlling half of the Senate we won't. I hate to be a downer but it's true.
2
They keep arguing that but the federal minimum wage has been at $7.25 an hour since 2009. They're lying to you.

@Willoboi7 The cons of capitalism outweigh the pros. It wastes finite resources and is needlessly wasteful, unhealthy, and bad for you and the environment with no plans to self terminate. Not to mention that society has no plans to replace it with anything more sustainable in the long run. People who aren't as cynical as me are too weak to value an inconvenient truth over a comfortable lie. Most people value comforting lies over truth which is why religion and astrology and other silly superstitions are so hugely popular. I realize that I'm probably offending a lot people by saying so but facts are more important than feelings in most curcumstances so whatever they feel is irrelevant. A dog has feelings but it's still dumber than me.

Republican voters aren't smart enough to know that there's no silver lining to deregulation. It's all bad. I think I knew when I was 12.
1
I joined a union but the unions are so dysfunctional these days that I never heard back from them. Never even got anything in the mail or in an email. It feels like I'm not even a member.
1
Big Pharma should be sued into bankruptcy. Not even fiscal conservatives like them and fiscal conservatives almost always suck up to large corporations.
1
Now it costs about $15,000 to $20,000 a year.

@factsoverfiction7826 At most universities. Doesn't matter which state.

Stupid boomer says: "You're a commie, Bernie! I'm gonna continue to vote against my economic interests. Trickle down is working for me! Derp derp derp!"

Thanks to drones, the hunt is easier than ever.
1
How can poor and lower middle income people still vote Republican? I stopped supporting them years ago. Not gonna vote for folks who screw me over economically.

Jeff Bezos claims to be socially liberal but fiscally conservative. So he has many of the same opinions as Forbes Magazine. He's like Forbes Magazine if the magazine was a person. How terrible.

So?
1
Alex Jay The United States is already in debt. So it already ran out other people's money and not because of socialism. So we really have nothing to lose with socialism, do we?
1
Alex Jay How is America #1 if it has the highest homeless population in the developed world?😆
1
Alex Jay In other words having the #1 GDP means nothing if the middle class and poor don't get any of the money. That just makes America the #1 feudal society.
1
Alex Jay Feudalism and democracy cannot coexist. For the interests of the wealthy will surely destroy our freedoms.
1
Alex Jay What percentage of homeless people are employed full time? Do you know? If the percentage is high then the system is to blame. The United States has the highest wealth disparity in the developed world but we pretend it's a meritocracy because we're all so stupid.
1
Alex Jay The system is rigged.
1
Alex Jay Millennials actually have more education than their parents. They didn't drop out. They went to college. The most educated generation in history. The cost of living simply hasn't kept up with inflation. Every house now costs well over six figures and the average full time factory worker only makes $14 to $15 an hour. Boomers went to college when tuition cost almost nothing and a person could get by without a college degree. It's the economy and the system. You obviously lived a very sheltered life not to know this. If you look at who dropped out of school you'll find most Trumpists have way less education than most liberals. This is a statistical fact.
1
Alex Jay Hmm... Maybe you should read the book The Meritocracy Trap. It was written by a straight A student.
1
The Meritocracy Trap is gospel truth.
1
Alex Jay I'm a cynical person. I think Americans become successful through nepotism and grifting. Trump's children reinforce this belief. There's no chance their success is genetic because Trump Junior is really stupid. 😆
1
Liberals shouldn't be afraid to criticize Islam. Christopher Hitchens certainly wasn't afraid.
1
@kevinbrady6075 Who cares? It's not like a person's value is determined by how many low paying shit jobs they create.
1
@monmalin It's funny you should mention that. If that's true then why was America prosperous during the 1970s and 1980s when even the lowest paying jobs paid a living wage? Don't dodge the question. Question dodging is my pet peeve.
1
@monmalin Thanks for answering. I'll look into that. Don't know what can be done to solve it, though. The fact that most Americans don't earn as much as their parents is the source of a lot of our current problems.
1
Brain dead Republicans have no clue that deregulation has no silver lining. None whasoever! They want to set us back to the 1930s. The banks should be regulated into oblivion as punishment. The regulations we have are too lenient and we've gone WAY too easy on the wealthy bankers. Time to get mean and nasty and start punishing the bankers. I say seize the property and assets of the wealthy bankers and give them life in solitary confinement until they go mad from loneliness and isolation.
1
Stop attacking my religion, cried the rightwing Christian. 😢
1
Politicians are vulnerable narcissists and I don't feel like treating them with empathy even though they're vulnerable. They don't even know they're vulnerable. They need to be shown!
1
You value theocracy over socialism, so there's that. Jesus freak!!!!
1
@bipl8989 Even if EvilCorp made them homeless, they'd still find a way to blame their problems on Dems and socialism. You can't reason with them.
1
Any possible inflation is worth it to get minimum wage to return to the level it was in 1970. Also whatever made home ownership highly affordable in the '70s also needs to be replicated, even if means taking human rights away from wealthy house flippers. Make strict laws against union busting. Life in solitary confinement for politicians who try to pass anti-union laws. Since politicians are social animals, solitary confinement will be especially cruel a punishment and they'll just slowly wither away and die from loneliness.
