Inflation and mostly stagnant wages. The economy is in trouble.
7
And wages will never go up. The rich like stagant wages as long as it doesn't affect them. Purely selfish.
6
Stagnant wages and rising inflation make it harder for millennials to afford homes than their boomer parents. Unless you're a rich millennial like Mark Zukerberg. Will Smith was right. Parents just don't understand.
5
Your wages won't increase to keep up with inflation. The wealthy business owners cancelled that fiscal policy.

@IIDASHII That's why you never pay rent. Move in with a relative or find a place to squat. Since squatting is illegal for dumb reasons write a manifesto about why it shouldn't be and start the revolution!

I have never heard anybody recommend using a credit card. I think you must have a credit card company as one of your advertisers or something.

@cs1992 How much did they have to spend to earn what they have, how did they get the money to spend, and why aren't the people who failed more famous? I'm a cynical person with questions.

Real mature. 🙄

As a first time home buyer I'm actually excited for a recession because it usually means a housing crash. I finally get to buy a house instead of renting if home prices crash.
2
How come the wages at my job haven't been ramping up to keep up with inflation? Uh-oh. The system must be rigged.
2
Especially in a sellers market. You just have to be patient and wait for a housing crisis to sell your home for much more than you bought it for. Now is an awesome time to sell a home but the people buying homes right now aren't very smart.

I have no clue how to pay off a credit card because I've never used one in my 36 years on Earth.
1
I predict it will be a few years or so before a buyer's market really comes back.

Silvia Erling is quite the busy spam bot.

@edhcb9359 There are actually pros and cons to living in Canada. Poor and lower middle class Canadians now EARN more money than poor and lower middle income Americans. Sadly the wealth gap has gotten out of control in the United States vs. Most Other Developed Nations. Canada's housing costs sound about the same as the housing costs in most parts of the U.S. right now. Over 100K for a crap shack sounds about right. That's what I see every time I go on Zillow.

Credit cards are scams! Cash is king.

America is trying to destroy its middle class while China is trying to build theirs. At some point it's gonna get so bad in America we're gonna wish we lived in China.

An apartment isn't an investment. You don't own it and you can't sell it. The landlord owns it. Bad choice. He talks about how homeowners have regrets. You know what I regret? That one time I lived in an apartment and later had to move back in with my parents.

It would be nice to be a wealthy homeowner. You could hire a maid, a butler, and a gardener to do most of the housework. Am I jealous of rich people? Kind of. Yeah.
1
The biggest spenders are the retired baby boomers. The generation with the most money. If it wasn't for baby boomers keeping the economy afloat we'd be in a recession already. Because everyone under 60 is scared and pinching their pennies.
1
Higher income tax will solve that problem. People making over 100k a year should be taxed at 90%.
1
@asherdie If working class wages, including the federal minimum, increases within the next year I will give you a thousand dollars. If it doesn't, I'll make sure to rub it in that I was right. I'm always right.
1
@asherdie You'd better watch. This country is on the verge of civil war. The working class is fed up. Many will die.
1
Sick! Sikh! I see what you did.
1
Greedy boomers. The wealthiest generation screws over their kids.
1
The only solution is to raise income tax, so that high income earners can no longer afford to buy and rent.

This can't be anywhere west of the Rockies. I live in the American West and every house from Colorado to California is going up.
