Republicans gutted unions and this is what happens. What a surprise, right?!

@johncase1353 The unions didn't cause the problems. Most likely the corporation did and then blamed the union. It's the unions job to shorten working hours and raise pay. The real reason for the "labor shortage" and people leaving their jobs is that unions have been gutted by oppressive laws to the point where they can no longer lobby to keep wages high like they used to. Working class wages have never been this low in America in 70+ years. Edit: Union support is currently at its highest in decades and yet it's harder than ever to actually get involved in collective bargaining and unionization. How exactly does a union get more money keeping pay down? They rely on union dues from employees. If pay went down ability for workers to pay dues to the union would also go down. The argument that they would bargain to keep pay low makes no sense. Unless they're getting their dues from the employer but the employer has no interest in paying the union. Employers don't rely on unions. Workers do. I have to wonder what kind of a union would do that and what's in it for the union considering that such a move would likely hurt them. Unless the union was being bribed to favor short term profit from bribe money over long term prosperity. Who was bribing them? Who would take that dumb deal?

@johncase1353 Back in the 1940s and '50s union members were mean and talked trash to the business execs while calling out their making bad arguments against workers. Back then these union guys came out of the Great Depression and they were pissed. I saw an old black and white video of a union member doing just that and making the big business execs sweat. People today don't have the backbone to yell at the wealthy business execs.
