The only reason baby boomers got paid better is because labor unions had more power in the 1950s, '60s, '70s, and '80s. Once they lost their bargaining power things went downhill.

I once saw a documentary with stressed out baboons. Turns out their stress levels went down after the violent baboons met with an unfortunate accident. They ate trash accidentally left out by the researchers and died of food poisoning tuberculosis. I think we can make sure that toxic people in our lives also meet with an unfortunate accident. That baboon study inspired me.

"We'll pay you a starting wage of less than $15 an hour with very limited benefits." It was then that I knew, I had to decline the job offer. 😆

Just put that on your resume. If it's just a cashier job they won't even check to see if you're lying. Tell them you have a PhD in finance with a bachelors in cultural anthropology. 'Whoa! A PhD in finance means he has great money skills. Perfect for a cashier. His anthropology degree means he can talk to people from all cultural backgrounds and knows people better than they know themselves. Hire him immediately!'

Hmm... It's almost as if our society was built by narcissists. How worrisome. "I'm higher ranked than you according to society, so I can fib a little but you can't fib. Not even a little. Morality doesn't apply to me. I'm a psychopath."
6
I personally believe people should exact revenge on psychopath bosses. Torturing psychopaths is the right thing to do. They deserve it!

You can always threaten to sue him for workplace harrassment.

If an employer says that make a fart noise. If your employer gets mad, just say, "Oh sorry. That sound seemed appropriate for someone talking out their ass!" 😂 Then the other employees will try to stifle their laughter and the vein the boss's forehead will look like it's gonna pop.
4
They reject university grads and claim there are no qualified employees to hire. It did not used to be like this. The system is rigged.
3
I try to avoid talking about work even when I'm at work, so this isn't a problem for me.
3
Just deliver a line that somebody delivers right before they become the supervillain after you're fired from a career with good benefits. 'You'll pay. You'll all pay! Mark my words!' Followed by an evil glare that sends chills down the spine of even the most hardened sociopath in the room. 😈

And isn't it interesting how the media never blames employers or the rich for the immigration problem? China doesn't have an immigration problem. Such problems seem to only exist in free market capitalist societies.
2
In my experience the bosses will scare people by suggesting they'll KNOW if you're slacking off at work but most of them don't know jack.
2
I'm convinced most employers these days are full blown narcissists. Narcissists tend to have higher expectations from others than themselves.

@MollyGIRLnug If rich people aren't happy being rich and they still want more they should something else besides money to fill that empty void in their lives. Like opioids.
2
@markbrowning4334 The proletariat is incapable of becoming as irrationally greedy as the petty bourgeoisie.
2
Society is crappy today because baby boomers listened to Ronald Reagan's trickle down economics b.s. and his myths about poor people and believed him.
2
A lot of jobs these days have a big dumb computer that filters out applicants for the dumbest of reasons. So the geniuses probably didn't even see that you applied.
2
Qualified just means they're willing to work for peanuts. This is why they hire Mexicans. Behind every border problem there's an undertaxed billionaire. The billionaire is the root and stem of the problem.
1
That's why I take a shortcut and count my years of education as work experience. If they ever found out (which they probably wouldn't) I would just play dumb and pretend I thought education counted as work experience. Nobody told me it didn't.
1
@MollyGIRLnug Yeah. But if you're both rich AND greedy it's a mental illness.
1
If we outlawed narcissism and criminalized that mental disorder, 90% of societal problems would be solved practically overnight.

It's called Human Resources for a reason. The psychopaths who invented that title view employees as a resource. We're basically cattle to them.

My reaction to LinkedIn is 'these work obsessed dorks can never be my friends. 0% of chance of us hanging out outside of work.'
1
Just tell them you work part time and have 50 years experience including 10 university degrees and need a second job that's full time. They'll call you back.
1
You and your coworkers could just blackmail the boss. Hey, if you fire us we'll leave a negative review of this company online and destroy the whole business. If we go down, we're taking you with us, boss man. What you think of that???
1
Just exaggerate on your resume but don't lie. Say things about yourself that can't be fact checked easily.
1
Is it wrong that I blame the victims of this scam for being gullible? Gullible people can vote and then we have to put up with politicians who pass sh*t labor laws that hurt us workers.
1
If you see these signs try to annoy your employer by pretending to work while reading books on your phone. Minimum salary. Minimum effort.
1
Hard work doesn't work. You get laid off regardless. Might as well just slack off at work and get the same result.
