  1. Tolkien was a scholar and a very cultured person. He was inspired by many stories and myths about magic rings. Norse myths, Greek myths, Wagner's Ring Cycle, etc. Lots of stories inspired The Lord of the Rings.

  36. Imagine how much more advanced we'd be if we had an elitist group of intellectuals and scientists ruling society. We might be at least 40 or 50 years ahead of our time in terms of progress and technology. Environmental and alternative energy problems would be solved because the council of intellectuals and scientists would force society to solve these problems. The stupid would no longer hold the world back because they would no longer have a loud enough voice.

  45. Everything you learn from your parents is wrong. The only reason religion is still prevalent is because parents indoctrinate their kids. Also losers tend to have the same political beliefs as mom and dad well into their 30s and 40s. I know it sounds rude to call adults who have trouble thinking for themselves losers, but they are.
