  2. You can live without electricity so you don't have to pay the electric one. I always wondered what the 19th century would be like if flashlights, cell phones, and battery powered radios existed back then. Oh, and your old Game Boys too. You may not have electricity but anybody living 100 years ago is still gonna covet all your battery powered electronic devices. Especially your smart phone. Even if you do have to charge it at the public library instead of your house. You can go home and be like: "Living with no electricity is better than camping because at least I'm living in a house and not a tent."
