Comedians make fun of their own culture and push the boundaries and break taboos and Fox News can't really make good jokes about anything since everything is taboo to them. It's why Leave It To Beaver was never very funny. A classic show, but not very funny.

I'm starting to see Covid as a positive thing. Like how the Black Death led to the Renaissance. I kind of hope it takes Palin out and then we can have another Enlightenment Age because another dumb person is now dead.

  15. amaebarnes I don't believe Keynesian economics states that we should only give tax cuts to the wealthy and nobody else; which is what most Republicans want. Supply-side economics has nothing to do with the trickle down myth as far as I know. There's been an attempt on the right to try to merge trickle down with the notion of Keynesian economics, but it's all B.S. Trickle down has never worked for anybody except for millionaires and billionaires. It's more like trickle up calling itself trickle down to mislead the masses of middle class and poor into believing they benefit somehow.

Subconsciously they're a little bit liberal leaning, but their conscious mind has heavily been influenced by the conservative culture they live in and were raised in. Psychology needs to investigate this phenomenon further.

Needless to say if you're a genius who subscribes to QAnon the other geniuses you hang out with at work or the other professors at your university probably poke fun at you. 'Hey look! Here comes Professor Tin Foil Hat!' The other professors snickered.

  28. The Outdoor Messenger There is a test to tell if people are actually brainwashed. You try to see if they use circular reasoning to make their points. If they use circular reasoning then they're brainwashed. If they are able to make an argument that is so good it can't be refuted without resorting to circular reasoning then they're probably NOT brainwashed. That's the test. Also, if they repeat mantras or quotes over and over that they heard from somebody else or from a group they belong to then they're probably brainwashed. Either that or mentally ill. Probably both.

Don't be surprised when Trump's tax plan sends Trump's approval rating to 28%. 28% is still too high, though.

Men who are impulsive are way too emotional and need to change their irrational behavior. Emotional people are also easily led astray by groups and religions that seek to manipulate their feelings. Feelings are overrated in our culture.
