I think it's hilarious how Republicans hate welfare for the poor but support historically low wages and then scratch their heads when it leads to more people in poverty and on welfare. Republican says: "How did this happen? All we did was refuse to raise the minimum wage to keep up with inflation and support jobs that pay less than 10 bucks an hour. Why are all these people on welfare now? I don't understand how that happened!!! I don't understand how creating poverty leads to more people on food stamps and welfare! Unbelievable!"

Here's a good question: How are people who rely on welfare supposed to pull themselves up by the bootstraps when they can't afford to buy bootstraps? LOL.

P.S. It would be funnier if it wasn't true.

@tstbad59 New Hampshire is full of retired rich people from New York. Makes a big difference.

@tstbad59 I couldn't find any information on Arkansas being just as poor after raising the minimum. But I do know that the United States had a stronger middle class and better economy when unions were strong and the federal minimum wage was higher. That's what gave 1950s, 1960s, and 1970s the strongest economy America has ever seen. Today we run the economy the same way we ran it during the Great Depression before the New Deal fixed everything. We give the rich everything and we SPOIL them and we wonder why they become so arrogant and out of touch and subvert democracy with their army of sneaky underhanded lobbyists. We let the rats take over the government and we wonder why the rats devour everything so impatiently and greedily without taking any time to enjoy life.

When you invite rats (wealthy psychopaths) to the table, they rarely even leave crumbs for the normal people.
