  1. Most of us Americans are an overly assuming bunch. We assume that somebody is guilty because the LAW DONE SAID THEY WERE GUILTY! HEE HAW! We don't think that there might be the slightest chance that we're executing an innocent person. We're not empathetic enough to care when we do kill an innocent person. What a wonderful civilized society we live in.
